I thought he died during “The Crow”.Welcome to the Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread
2025 Recruiting
1) Keaton Wagler (2025 G) committed on September 18th, 2024.
2) Brandon Lee (2025 G) committed on September 25th, 2024.
And he was also a co-Star in Showdown in Little Tokyo with Dolph Lundgren.I thought he died during “The Crow”.
Did it happen?
Any info on Brandon Lee?
That's a "team" player. Whatever it takes. And he was also a co-Star in Showdown in Little Tokyo with Dolph Lundgren.
Why Is Illinois wasting their time and this kid’s time? A 150 recruit will be on the roster one year and transfer to somewhere like Eastern Illinois as he’ll never see the floor. Makes no sense.
Wasn't Coleman a 150 recruit? Why Is Illinois wasting their time and this kid’s time? A 150 recruit will be on the roster one year and transfer to somewhere like Eastern Illinois as he’ll never see the floor. Makes no sense.

1. Because there's almost no risk involved. Why Is Illinois wasting their time and this kid’s time? A 150 recruit will be on the roster one year and transfer to somewhere like Eastern Illinois as he’ll never see the floor. Makes no sense.
10. Brad doesn’t care about rankings. He trusts his own evaluation. He’s usually right.1. Because there's almost no risk involved.
2. Because there will be an expanded number of roster spots.
3. Because sometimes injuries occur.
4. Because you can never bring in enough shooters.
5. Because both kids come in as great team players who will work hard and add to our team culture.
6. Because you need players that will help keep practices and scrimmages competitive.
7. Because that stuff you wrote about them transferring might happen, but probably it won't. Both of them know what's up. They understand that it'll be an uphill battle to earn minutes, particularly their first couple of years on the team.
8. Because we don't have an unlimited supply of NIL. Not every player we bring in can be a KJ or a Riley.
9. Why use the words "waste of time" on our players, particularly before they've had the chance to play a single minute for us?
Trent Frazier was ranked 148th.Why Is Illinois wasting their time and this kid’s time? A 150 recruit will be on the roster one year and transfer to somewhere like Eastern Illinois as he’ll never see the floor. Makes no sense.
Trent 148, Coleman outside the top 150. While we'd all love to have a team of consensus studs, there are plenty of low-rated guys that turn out well.Trent Frazier was ranked 148th.
I think Brad has earned the benefit of the doubt.
I agree wholeheartedly about Brad’s ability to evaluate talent. But that might not be the best example. He was recruited by John Groce.Trent Frazier was ranked 148th.

Groce was an okay recruiter, except when it came to PGs. He had a decent eye for underrated talent (not Brad good, but good). That lack of being able to get top tier ball handlers was his undoing.I agree wholeheartedly about Brad’s ability to evaluate talent. But that might not be the best example. Oh no, are we saying we have to give Groce the benefit of the doubt now? Lol.

Jokes funny, but Brad kept him. Besides, Groce was decent at identifying talent, he just couldn't close the deal on the trail.I agree wholeheartedly about Brad’s ability to evaluate talent. But that might not be the best example. He was recruited by John Groce.

He was also Mr. Nice guy that ran a really loose ship, it seems. His teams were undisciplined and players didn't really develop as well as they probably should.Groce was an okay recruiter, except when it came to PGs. Brad got Ayo and Kodi pre-NIL.It’s not really fair to compare recruiting pre and post NIL. Totally new game. Lots of players were lost to bags of cash or to houses purchased for parents.
