How can there be clauses in an "NIL deal"? It specifically can't be tied to performance or be "pay-for-play." It's supposed to be for "name, image, and likeness." Unless the clause is something like, extra $$$ for a certain number of instagram followers, it doesn't seem like something like that would be permissible.
Could possibly just be a handshake deal in the vein of "If we make the Elite 8 we have donors lined up willing to reward you with another million".

Would effectively be impossible to police because you can't really prove that those NIL donors just didn't want to give him more money for his likeness after a great tourney showing.

Not performance related, sales related.

Interesting that mainstream sources like ESPN still dont report on the NIL aspect when putting an article on the commitment together.
ESPN has an interest in obfuscating that information because NIL is leveling the playing field and sending players beyond the traditional bluebloods Kentucky, Duke, and UNC that ESPN favors. BYU is the Big XII, which is okay for ESPN but not great.

Maybe because I wasn't living under a rock, then or now.

It was impossible to be alive when that show first aired and not know the premise and characters.

And it was MY co-workers that had the nearly nonexistent work ethic. I have zero idea whether the Seinfeld characters' work ethic was even mentioned on the show or not

Anything else?

Are sales not related to performance and vice versa? In every job I've ever held in the entirety of my life, this was a truism. This whole NIL thing is headed for a litigious future..... Someone, somewhere, needs to set the boundaries, draw the lines, lol. This is why I am skeptical of my future commitment to this form of entertainment.

When it comes to NIL players, do these frosh have an agent? Or do these kids and families negotiate on their own? Same question for the portal. Does anybody know?
