I like Blackwell and his connection to Illinois but have a little PTSD after the near miss with another former Badger....

I'm convinced politicians can't really be bad at their jobs because they don't actually do any real work. They just tweet and talk on TV and hold fundraisers.

It's the staffers who live on peanuts and work 80 hours a week that do the real work.

Hopefully in future there will not be people attending 4 schools in 4 years.
Not good for school, not good for player.
If you want to establish a culture and team you need more continuity.
We have 4 freshman - KJ, Tomas, Morez, Riley. I hope at least 2 stay, ideally 3, dream 4.
We have 4 portal - Tre, Ben, Kylan Jake. I hope all 4 stay (assuming Ben has eligibility)

where would that put him on current Illinois roster? Funny, we have heard 2 Million for Hawkins and 750K-1 Million for Storr but I haven't seen or heard a single number on current Illinois players.

My made up estimates:
KJ 1.25 million
Tomi 900K
Riley 900K
Boswell 750K
White 500K
Morez 500K
Humrichous 500K but I have a feeling we paid more like 1 million
Davis, Rogers, DGL, Booth 200K or less.

Based on my guesses, Illinois NIL budget = 6+ million (seems high)

With the exception of Humrichous and KJ (the latter being in the neighborhood of $1 million if I'm remembering those days correctly), I suspect you'd be closer to the real numbers if you divided all of these by 2.

It has been said that this roster costs $4 Million in total NIL. Based on a few nuggets I recall on KJ, Tomi, and Will, I believe this is a more accurate breakdown:

Riley: 1.3MM
KJ: 900k
Boswell: ~450k
Ben: ~450k
Ivisic: ~350k
Morez: ~150k
Ty: ~100k
Tre: ~200k
Rest (DGL, Jake, Jakstys): ~100k
