Great, great question. In HS, he did shoot elbow jumpers now and again. The form was good. I think our staff needs to get to work on jump hooks, and at least some jump shots, with this kid. Tomorrow morning would be the right time to get going on this.

Why is everyone in love with big z....do these stats scream must have

2024-25 season stats
PTS 8.8
REB 4.4
AST 0.8
FG% 47.5

He was pretty good last half of the season for them... don't just look at end of season stats...

Is Rez strictly an around the rim finisher? Does he have any outside shot?

He did show some range in HS so it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to to start adding that to his game in the offseason.

The great part about having Tomi, Morez, and Z is that any combo of the 3 could be ok playing together. You always have two bigs on the floor with at least one capable of stretching the floor.

Not quite sure I buy the Big Z talk. Besides all the speculation about whether he would want the role of 3rd option, big man, he is going to want a very large bag to leave Arkansas. Can we make that work, and do we want/need to for a 3rd option at center? Is it worth paying high $ for Big Z when we might be able to find a serviceable backup center for less and put that money elsewhere?

The times I've watched him play, he seemed over matched and a foul machine. He played 4 and 10 minutes in their two tournament games.

I 100% agree we need another big, just not enamored with him

I don’t really understand how we can add Big Z and that not create problems with Morez. What does that rotation look like? Morez has shown he probably deserves more minutes next year, and it seems like if we add Big Z it will only reduce them?
Over and over again this year we ran into situations where having a third big would have helped. Brad needs to figure out how to build out and keep a full team roster without being able to hand out starting roles. Spots opened up by pushing the current team out the door. Coleman or Dain would have really helped this year. Suspect Coleman would have been much happier as well.

If Z is definitely ok being the clear third option wirh Tomi and Morez far and away getting the major minutes, then that’s fine and great. But if Z coming in at all threatens Morez’s role then if I’m him I’m probably walking out that door. I don’t want any moves that shake up that plan of Tomi and Morez. But like I said, if Z is the bench guy that’s great.
