Sad to see Morez leave. But I’m not one of those longing for the good ol’ days before NIL…because they were not all that good. NIL started long, long ago for the blue bloods (and for us at a time, too). The playing field is now much more level even if chaotic. Tough on fans but good for many players.

Except this is insane line of thinking. Nobody with a brain thought day 1 Morez should start over Humrichous. Humrichous had a perfectly fine start to the season. It wasn’t even a conversation until the first MSU game that people called for Morez to replace Ben. Shortly after that game, Morez was placed into the starting lineup and thrived. Morez was played less coming off injury but prior to injury was easily logging 25 min a game if not in foul trouble.

Now explain why a staff should accommodate for a 6’9 rebounding monster to change his playstyle and shift to a perimeter option? Why should they accommodate their playstyle to someone who thinks Kofis career at Illinois is something to not follow? It’s crazy to me that people think this is anything other than his inner circle being delusional about his talent and trying to maximize more money instead of looking at what the actual best landing spot for him is. What separates this situation from Epps or Miller?

Illinois gave Morez everything he needed, promised him a huge role next year, upped his NIL (from a deal that was already agreed), and he still decided to leave. Onto the next, good luck Morez.
Is he looking to follow Tim Anderson to whatever his next destination is next season?

I mean, Brad has no loyalty to his players so? He recruits over them regularly. Why would they trust him when he says things like expanded role...etc
Well before the portal you could invest more time in your players teaching and developing them into what you need and to reach their potential. There only real threat of losing playing time was from your current teammates or incoming high school recruits. Not anymore, you have to fill your roster with players that can get the job done whether they are currently on the roster or transfers and recruits. You can't not do it that way and be successful on a regular basis because nearly every other program will.

Nothing is done … Wouldn't shock me a bit if Tomi entered the portal …

I do think it’s more likely than not that Bam is back but it’s no guarantee …

Oh and Brad would LOVE to have Ben back … Freaking figures … 🙄
what dirt does BH have on BU? don't understand why BU is so enamored with such a mid AT BEST player. I'm convinced if Ty had played this season he would have been more productive offensively than BH

The Johnson family using the resources available to them to maximize their value under the current system is normal and should be expected.
It is also, perhaps, a marked shift from what they were doing one year ago. It certainly makes the statements about being ride or die orange and blue worthless.

If Brad Underwood plays Morez as much as he should have played, none of this happens. Period. That is on the coaching and staff. Anyone else arguing otherwise needs to wake up.

Morez was insulted by Ben playing over him. That (plus the bag he is about to get) is ultimately what drove him away. And I don't fault him 0%, as much as it sucks and as awesome as I know he is going to be at his next stop.

As he should have been. I was insulted watching Ben play over him.

Also people keep pointing out the loyalty of the Frazier group, this years team was quite a bit better Efficiency margin wise. Not to mention the league is a lot tougher now. Also when Rez got back it was pretty common knowledge he had limited minutes. IMO Rez talking about coaching is an excuse, he wants a bag.
