Confident Tre, Kylan, Tomi, and Morez will all be back. Great core to build with.
Add a true PG, a reliable 3-point shooter who can also play defense and a third big man (would be happy to have Tomi's brother in that role) and I would really like that team. If those 4 returning players continue to grow their games, that team could be special. Of course, I'm a glass 3/4 full kinda fan. Or in this case 4/5 full.

Eh, the transfer portal can be a crapshoot. Look at Storr at Kansas, Maddox at Xavier, Tyson at UNC, etc.
True, but Booth was so bad immediately off the jump that he literally almost never saw playing time, compared to just being disappointing. Hope we can avoid that level of extreme NIL waste in the future.

From your keyboard to God's ears. 🙏

What about Jake Davis and DGL?
Not the guy you wanted a response from, but I think DGL is expendable. Two freshmen guards coming in, let’s give them a look. Not trying to be a DGL hater, I think he could do very well as a high usage guy, that’s not happening here. Honestly wish him the best no matter his choice.

Davis seems like a great bench guy, not sure he’s willing to take on that role again but I could see him sticking around another year.

Frankly, give me a star PG, knock down three pt specialist, and a backup big man and call it a day.

I would welcome Jake back in his role...as long as he doesn't make a habit of jumping into the waiting arms of a 3-point shooter with 1 second left in a half. Just kidding. He almost always did what he was supposed to do all year. He played hard and filled his role with joy. Can't ask much more of a role player. Sometimes role players who cannot accept their roles can tear a team apart.

Decided to go ahead and add a tab to the sheet this morning with the scholarship grid on it so we can have an idea of roughly how many spots we're looking to fill. Will try to keep the sheet from being speculative and will keep it based on official portal and draft declaration news.

I think the issue Brad has with DGL is his height and that he has an issue with defensive scouting reports.

If DGL was 6-4 or 6-5 he would be strong in the rotation.

Maybe one (or both) incoming freshman is one of your "knock down three pt. specialist."

I know that seasons like he just had, lead 90+% to the portal. What if he wanted to stay and work on his game? His raw talent is off the charts. Obviously, it didn't show itself in games.
I'm very curious to hear what about Carey Booth this season makes you think his raw talent is "off the charts"? Even so, the kids attitude was probably the worst I've ever seen for a player here.
