Nothing is done … Wouldn't shock me a bit if Tomi entered the portal …

I do think it’s more likely than not that Bam is back but it’s no guarantee …

Oh and Brad would LOVE to have Ben back … Freaking figures … 🙄
Oh dear God..

Tell ya what. If he is really going to hitch his wagon to Humbrickhouse, and if things go sideways for us next year, then as far as I’m concerned Brad can follow Humbrickhouse out the door. Brad’s undying loyalty to this guy is mind blowing.

I literally just explained what the biggest problem was …

You’re starting some decent mid major player from Tipton, Indiana over Mr. Basketball in Illinois …

That’s a PROBLEM !!!!!!

Then it’s very clear when Brad says PUBLICLY, let’s do everything we can to bring Ben BACK ??? That tells Morez circle all they need to know …
Iwould it have been any different if Riley started instead of Ben…that’s the move that was made later in the season?

Was Morez promised a starting role before the season?

I’m not trying to defend Brad, but this ego and entitlement stuff with players is just as frustrating as Brads stubbornness with his lineups/and kid/Hamer roles on the staff this year

Make no mistake, this sucks, but now you can go all in on building around Tomi next year and a bunch of money freed up.

Have no choice! Try one last time to get Morez. If not, then let's move on and get some 7+ footers in here to dominate the boards.

I don't understand why we've repeatedly seen guys with everything going for them going into their sophomore year leave anyway. I figured Adam Miller and Jayden Epps were isolated incidents, but at some point it's a pattern.

Brad is going to ask the boosters to pony up for another year of Ben with Morez walking out the door …

If You Say So Wow GIF by Identity
All of the below can be true:

-Program is undoubtedly in a better spot because of Brad (duh)
-Brad needs to figure out how to retain players, and improve as a coach, because this is unacceptable
-Morez went back on his word and fans have every right to be upset about it
-Boosters have every right to be upset with Brad given his income and resources at his disposal
-Brad should absolutely not be fired and anyone saying he is needs to chill (including me)

Brad Underwood has embraced a very different philosophy. Speed dating. Juco.

Brad Underwood has been very successful at that, and I have every confidence he will continue to be. And I think he should be judged solely on results.
I agree that he should be judged on results . . . one trip to the Sweet Sixteen in eight seasons at Illinois . . . Michigan and Purdue have five over the same span, Sparty and UCLA have three . . . we're an upper-third program in probably the #3 basketball conference . . . quite nice, but worthy of a Top 10 coaching salary? Could someone else do better with the resources at Brad's disposal?

So at what point does Josh take a closer look at the turnover in Basketball (he may already be doing this)? I'll take the Purdue culture and results over what we've seen at Illinois.

I'm good with players getting their $$ at this point it's on the Head coach and his staff to build an environment where a player isn't enticed by more $$ at another school. Seems like Brett and the football staff understand this.

I'll let the overreactions occur. It sucks for a number of reasons, but dad got involved and things went sideways. They have a plan and things will be fine. People can feel free how they want to but saying Brad is on the hot seat is a complete and utter joke.

Love Morez and he's an amazing player but two million plus for a non shooter big isn't realistic when we already have Tomi.

$2 million for a big who has Morez’s strengths and potential is very normal from the Athletic article shared earlier with budgets for top programs. There’s a chance in two weeks we look back and realize that’s a real bargain.

I am not REMOTELY surprised by this. I know less than nothing, but this is, unfortunately, the time we live in. There will be significant turnover every year, bidding wars, inner circles, etc…

Honestly, with the current climate, I wouldn’t recruit high school players. You have guys for one year guaranteed. That’s it. Recruit nothing but juniors and seniors. I don’t see the point in doing anything else.

The best team we have had in recent memory was LOADED with older players.

This is beyond disappointing. The guy who showed the most promise to take our basketball team to the promised land now looks like a klutz.

Thank goodness for Bret and Shauna.

Yea, but his son sitting next to him is a complete and utter joke!
