This isn’t true. Against Iowa he had 11 minutes. 12minutes against Xavier and 17 vs UK
Now this is a bit disingenuous. Morez was coming off a major injury by the postseason. Prior to getting injured, Morez was getting 20+ minutes 6 out of the last 7 games he played in.

Nobody was expecting him to be putting in starter minutes after injury. We were simply happy he was able to provide rotational minutes in the postseason.

The only insiders I pay any attention to are Indy, DB and 89_05. The rest I view as shills for Brad Underwood. Sorry just calling it like I see it

I wonder how much a coach affects NIL donations. For example, are some donors holding back because of BU, or, on the flip side, is he bringing in more money that otherwise might not be there. I know it’s not necessarily a question we can answer, just curious.

The situation with players being yearly nomads that can bail on a team at any time is 100% created by the NCAA’s never-ending greed and hope that they can get Congress to grant them an antitrust exemption, so the NCAA can go back to not needing to pay players above the table. The NCAA clings to hope that it can go back to not paying college football and basketball players anywhere near their true market value, so this is the situation fans get. The NCAA and schools could start signing players to binding contracts tomorrow if they wanted, but that would mean the NCAA would be abandoning its delusional quest for an antitrust exemption. The useless, overpaid NCAA admins will not give up the antitrust exemption hope since the moment they do so, a lot of those useless admins will be out of jobs.

Donor money is not really ""market value". Its not an armslength transaction. Its high dollar donors who control things and they do not necessarily do things wisely. A millionaire could come in and buy my house for $5 million dollars. That doesn't make it market value. It makes it someone overpaying and making a bad investment. That's currently college basketball.

And I maintain that the old system is way better than what we have. There is little argument that could convince me otherwise. College basketball prepared athletes for their future. As college is intended to do. Some of them went on to play pro ball. Most did not. The rest got a free college education which is great. I am honestly not all that upset that the universities made money from this system and the athletes did not make as much(I still consider free college as payment...and my student loans agree with me). If that is not fair in the eyes of the athletes there are other options. Don't go play college sports. I'm ok with that. No one is being forced to play. Go to Europe/Austrailia/the G-League/wherever. I don't care when it comes down to it. Would college basketball be hurt if the top players didn't play? Probably. But I think everyone is underestimating how replaceable they are. If we had slightly less talented players across the board but they stayed and grew as a team I think many would prefer it. Many college basketball way more than the NBA now and there is a huge talent dropoff so that clearly doesn't bother people. And I think those players that want to go someone else may find that their best option is taking that free scholarship.

If you are going to lose most of your best players every year to the portal, you better have in the top ten in NIL and the best staff. Do we have that? If not, I don't see how he ever get over the hump.
If you have top ten NIL AND the best staff, you will not lose such a large group of the eligible players you wish to retain each year.

At some point you have to pay attention to the yellow/red flags with Underwood.

Morez is the most recent sting, but don’t forget when Tre White didn’t get any minutes?

I’m not saying Brad should be fired, but now you have to go back into the transfer market to likely find a lesser player than Morez, because you decided to play a guy who clearly wasn’t as talented as Morez.

More than ever boosters can elevate or sink a coach if they decide not to pony up NIL money.
