Ultimately I trust the leadership of JW. He hasn't given us any reason to doubt his abilities to make sound decisions. I'm indifferent on both Morez and Tre because there were never absolutes in their decision to stay or go. While NIL has changed the game, I believe the transfer rules have had the biggest negative impact.
Three months from now, we'll either be thrilled with who is part of this team or questioning the make-up of the team. I'm a fan either way.

My only comment about current situation. I know at least 3-4 big donors that say they are done if Hamer and Tyler are not gone or have GREATLY diminished roles.
Then they can GTFO... Tyler is a great offensive coach, and if they want to whine, go be a fan of someone else

Maybe because they didn't have to deal with the current Assistant Coaches?

Do you remember what Meyers looked like as a freshman?
Brad's ego made him opt for a 22 year old NAIA shooter who couldn't shoot over a fringe 5 star Chicago kid who wanted to play here his whole life. Its mind numbing.

Morez is going to be so so good and it makes me sick it really does.
Bro Wolf

No egos just analytic numbers, older transfer players and NIL $$$% move coaches to take on portal players.
Morez is old enough to make decisions on who he wants to be and how to play the game. Tre White the same going on his 4th school.
College bball is a totally different game now so get used to the transfers and turnover.

Losing Morez and Tre sucks. Every program is losing players to this new age of NIL. Kansas just lost a top 20 freshman player to NIL. Does that mean Bill Self sucks as a coach or the player was unhappy. I don't think so, more than likely he wants to get paid a bigger bag of cash and see if the grass is greener with another team. These players are building no consistency with players, coaches or teams. How many players have left Illinois running after the cash thing it would be better, only 1 can think of and he did not give the process a chance. Heck Skyy and Jayden started as freshmen, got everything they wanted and still left. Only so much that can be done these days to retain players from year to year, for example Tre will be on his 4th team, Skyy his 3rd, Melendez on his 3rd, Senciere on his 3rd now, and Curbelo on his 24th.

Illni0440 if you have some inside knowledge good for you but this is not just about Morez it’s about the culture of Illinois basketball . Illinois basketball IS BIGGER THAN BRAD UNDERWOOD. University of Illinois basketball was here decades before Brad Underwood and will be here decades after he’s long gone. Brad is not the only coach in the entire world that can be the coach of The University of Illinois men’s basketball team. Some portion of the Illinois fan base have serious Brad Underwood fanboy mentality that I don’t get. It would be different if Brad was like Bill Self or Izzo with Several Sweet 16s , Elite8s , Final 4s , National Championships but he’s NOT. He’s a mediocre coach that’s been to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament once in 8 years as Illinois head basketball coach and in his entire career as a Head Basketball coach . I don’t care if Brad stays or goes but to get on your high horse and act like Brad Underwood is the greatest Coach in University of Illinois basketball history is laughable.

Anyone else think that Morez will get less NIL money after next season and portal again?

Maybe fans should just boycott and sit out a year. See how far this crap goes without fan cash flow . I always thought players were entitled to money to help with everyday expenses but never envisioned this nightmare scenario.
Good luck with that. Good thing that most fans ≠ people on this board
