After watching the Florida game, we need guys who can penatrate in traffic, against contact, get fouled and get to the line and make free throws, not jack up contested threes.
Boswell did that for the last month. That's why he and Tomi are the top two priorities. I wouldn't mind another 2 or 3 more that can do it. How much to get Will back? Lol
Also thats why I was frustrated BU didn't start the game and second half with the ball on Boz hands. The start of both halves where KJ and Will turn it over before going giving the keys back to Boz killed us. Let's add Sarr and get some positivity again.

you can literally do this for every top offense
#1 Duke - Cooper Flagg, generational talent - duh
#2 Florida - Walter Clayton, best closer in CBB - duh
...
But you are missing my point.

The two examples I used had absolutely NOTHING to do with the offensive sets being run.

TSJ didn’t even need an offensive philosophy for over half of his points, thus the line “We didn’t even run plays for TSJ.” He was scoring in transition or getting fouled for A TON of his points.

This year when we rebounded an absurd number of our misses the offense efficiency was high. When we didn’t, it was putrid.

So if the philosophy this year was just chuck 3’s so we can rebound it….. then it was successful.

Six months of optimism from this board?

Last thing I will say before I head out for a bit-the Humrichous Morez thing is hilarious. Several power 4 schools were heavy in pursuit on Ben. I don't blame Brad for playing him a bit considering how much he paid him and how the dude shot in practice leading up to the season. Still was one of our best 3 point shooters and played decent defense down the stretch. No, I am not Ben's biggest fan. But Morez played a crap ton for a freshman big on a team that had a stud center. They did everything they could to get him back the last week and it still wasn't enough. Lastly, Hamer needs to go, but the Tyler thing is a complete cop out and a huge sham.
Dang, Loyalty. We have to be better than this. Our insiders don’t owe us anything and they provide info we wouldn’t otherwise get.

Let’s be respectful and appreciative. I-L-L

Three months from now, we'll either be thrilled with who is part of this team or questioning the make-up of the team.
One thing that is certain--three months from now some on this board will be proclaiming that we have so much depth that our second five will be able to compete with many teams and that we have a shot at a final-four season. Happens every preseason.

Anyone else think that Morez will get less NIL money after next season and portal again?
Probably. Unless the coach lets him shoot 3s which he didn’t appear good at doing, so his new coach probably won’t let him. Only way he gets to shoot a bunch of 3s is if he transfers down which he won’t do.

For sure.. but if I recall correctly Trent was also working a lot harder on D
Well it didn’t pay off in steals (and yes, I know steals aren’t the only indicators of good D) as he had a career low. I love Trent, but he definitely did not have a good year for him, and arguably the worst of his career.

Oh dear god… how many of those actually improved their performance to a level they perceived themselves to be at? How many have been part of winning programs? Only JCL had tournament success and it took him 6 years and four transfers to get there while riding the bench.
That list…. Occam’s Razor….. something something something

Absolutely zero way for you to know this let alone be able to substantiate it, you're just making stuff up or parroting things other people have made up
Many things point to culture in the program. The amount of turnover is the biggest issue. We need culture guys like Frazier, Ayo, Williams, Kofi, TSJ, and Coleman who just oozed orange and blue. That is what I mean by lacking. We are lacking in continuity right now. Two of the last 3 years have felt like hired mercenaries coming in for one season and leaving. The championship seasons had a positive culture in that respect (leaders on the team here multiple years). There was buy in, and there was clear playing for the name on front of the jersey and not on the back. I am hoping Boswell (or maybe Ty if he stays) can be that guy going forward.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the players who played here last season, and those leaving to play in NBA are a good reflection on the program. However, it is hard to build upon an EDG culture if the players are going to churn through year in and out.

In my opinion, Frazier didn’t take a step back. He deferred to team needs and took a different role. Everyone knew Ayo was the new alpha in town
It did seem like it took him a while to settle in that year but he was very good by the end of the year.

Seriously? Coach Bowler just led Parkland to a 33-3 season which ended with a national runner-up finish. They wouldn't give Tyler a sniff.
Maybe if Bowler was offered a job at Illinois?

Last year after playing in the Elite 8 we lost TSJ & Domask. Then Dain, Coleman. & Goode transfered. If we can keep Tomi and Boz with a couple role players then we are far better off than around this time last off season.
Also. at that time how many on this board had heard of Tomi or KJ and was Boz or Tre in the fold? There are and will be plenty of players to add in the portal. Hopefully BU is getting wiser and will construct the roster more effectively. Regardless of Tre or Rez departure we are still in much better shape than last off season if Tomi, Boz, and a role player or two. This past season only returning active player was DGL. We are in much better shape.
