According to how he does in the Draft Combine, he might go in the 1st round of the NBA Draft. I've seen multiple mocks that now have him in the mid 20s, and he is considered by some to be a fast riser in the draft.

They played together some. That will be significant, given KJ's successful trajectory via the Illini to the NBA. That's the extent of it though.

He had 7 points 5 rebounds and no assists in 20 min his last game - he’s not necessarily screaming “ draft ready “. I think taking the KJ route and showing what you can do in college will do wonders for his draft stock

He’s likely waiting for what Will decides before committing here and same for Ament and Duke- hopefully our staff convinces him to come regardless of what Will does, particularly now that Tre is gone- I mean, playing with Will didn’t hurt KJ’s stock

For our insiders, it seems things are bitter now, no one likes to lose, but the bigger question I have is did KJ, Will, and I guess the other current non-transfers have a good experience? Were they happy and would they recommend the Champaign / Illini experience to others? Do players and coaches enjoy Brad? Can / will Boswell, Tomi, Ben sell on behalf of Illinois?

That is big for them- Paint not too proud to use the portal now I see. If Braden or TKR leave it might not matter for them much next year, but he’s definitely an upgrade to Will Berg and gives Jacobson someone else to carry the load at C
