Ya, that's basically what I said. But he was turning down shots at the rim by the end of the season during his last year playing. To run the offense we have been running, he has to be able to score and ideally at multiple levels. Again, hope he's developed that.
Eh. Damonte Williams wasnt much of a shooter outside of one year and Morez wasn't a shooter this year.

College guys will make huge leaps all the time in one off-season. There is a legitimate chance that Ty is a very different player when he takes the court in November and we see him for the first time in 20ish months.

Not gonna have to worry about it. All we have to do is drive the ball into him at the rim and he will foul you. Especially if you pump fake him. He can't keep himself from jumping at it. That's why he was in foul trouble most of the time.
He was a freshman and made freshman mistakes, I’m pretty sure he’ll get better on defense over the next few years

I love Rez. But he’ll be mad if he finds out what I’m saying… he doesn’t have the dog in him like Ty. Ty just wants to work and win.

Any word on DGL? I would like to have him back for continuity. The experience would be nice to have. As long as his attitude is good. Seemed unhappy at the end of the season. That stuff can rub off from other unhappys though. Any insight?
Remember how everyone (touch if sarcasm) was so down on Coleman? And what happened there? I hope DGL sticks. I think he may have himself painted into a corner at Illinois, so he’s not going anywhere. And it’s probably the best for him. [Note: I’ve just jinxed everything.]

I like Ty and am happy he's back, but let's not forget our own coaching staff recruited over him 12 months ago. It's a fair assumption there's an understanding about his role going forward and of course his commitment to the program is appreciated, but questioning where he fits on the court in the way they want to play is perfectly valid.

This is great to have Ty back. Great news. He is pretty good in the post and can deck it and get to the rim. He struggled to finish around the rim his sophomore year, but that is part of the process. We get a defender, a more than willing rebounder, and leader. I can't wait to see his cutting and him in the dunkers spot and Tomi threading needles to him. What a start to next years roster.

For us maybe it didnt even make a dent in college basketball twitter Morez to Michigan is everywhere

I think I'd be the same way but it seemed that Morez was dogging us going out the door? I gave up social media (other than this) in 2020, so others can differ.

a Tyler Bilodeau type 4 is what we need bad
Keyshawn Hall is my dream add for this. He's basically just a wing that's big and strong enough to play on the interior (especially after working with Fletch).

I basically want to see a roster composed of two 7 footers in Big Z and Tomi, Boswell, and then a bunch of 6'5-6'7 wings and guards that provide a ton of flexibility and the ability to switch a bunch defensively.

Maybe this is the role @Indy Illini Fan envisioned earlier for Rodgers. Though I think sour grapes is causing some here to sell Morez short.
Agreed @sacraig …Morez was touted to be the future by many of us. It’s a shame he is now a villain.

At the same time, if he and his circle were going to cause drama and beg for to be molded into a (likely very inefficient) perimeter player…it may be for the best in the end. Fans will cope how fans will cope. Especially here on this board (myself included)

I am so happy to have Ty back. He has been a favorite of mine, and I think will be an integral part of the team. Really softens the blow of that other news today.

Hot take, I won't ever hate Morez. I'm kinda of apathetic to this portal madness and very happy Ty is back. Great to have one of those dogs on the court that bleed orange and blue (like Morez should have been).
Impressive. You have controlled your fear. Obi wan has taught you well. You are powerful indeed as the emperor has foreseen. But I this leads me to think....
