Who you taking in a best 4 out of 7 series: Team A composed of 5 Kenny Battles against Team B composed of 5 Ty Rodgers? All in their prime.

Catching up on the Morez to Michigan news. This is going to end one of two ways.

1) The most likely situation, where Morez eventually plays the exact same role he plays here, his dad gets his underwear in a bunch, and they look for another school next year.

2) Dusty lets Morez play how he wants, which will make Michigan a worse team because he's not a stretch 4 in any way.

Don't really see another scenario than these two. Morez and his dad really seem to have some misguided expectations about exactly the type of player he is. I'm not going to worry too much more about this. They made their decision, and they clearly are more concerned with self-centered motivations.

Maybe Ty saw what his cousin did and wants to show he can do the same without the burden of learning a new system.

Could be true.

Also could be true: Ty's "people" put out some feelers all season and found out no one is clamoring to dedicate a chunk of NIL to a wing player that cannot shoot a basketball. Decided IL ain't so bad after all.

I’m sure Morez got an attractive offer from Michigan, but it would be hard to believe it was anything close to $1.8M - reportedly they didn’t pay anyone seven figures last year

I do think all is fair in love and the portal so if other big ten schools poach players, I think we just have to get used to that. The way this one went down is just the part that really smells- given he had an NIL deal in place for seven figures and agreed to stay

Then someone got in his and his dad’s ear that he was being misused and he can make twice as much money elsewhere and a specific offer was on the table before he entered the portal. If it was TA, an Illinois assistant being paid by Illinois all season trying to bring a player to find himself a job - then this really is unethical and Michigan becomes mortal enemy #1. Otherwise, if TA isn’t involved, it’s just another case of handlers/agents getting in a players and his families ear to try to make some money which happens all the time and stinks but my hate for Michigan is much less from this situation alone
