Anyone else heard that Dix and Tucker Devries don't have the best relationship stemming from when he played AAU ball with him? Just me?

I'd have invested in DGL. Bet on your own guys.
If Illini are going to invest in someone who has shot 25% from 3 in his career, I’d want it to be a center or a high-level distributor at PG not an undersized shooting guard. Plus, I don’t think he would have been happy in a role similar to this year’s, and from what I’ve seen from him that is the role he likely would have had. Appreciate his contributions, but think both NIL and playing time investment can be put to better use.

That's 3 outgoing transfers for Purdue now

EDIT: Correction as someone else noted, 4 not 3

I was told Purdue and MSU are pillars of stability.

The omission of thanking anyone on the coaching staff is not an oversight I'd bet. I wish him the best and losing guys like DGL, Tre, and Morez makes me sad. In my book they were all EDGs. I'm very happy to have Ty back though!
Ehhh, the only "Everyday Guy" thing about Tre is that is seems like "Everyday" he thinks about which team he's going to transfer to for his next season.

I would love to see DGL drop down a level. Maybe an Illinois State or Indiana State. I think he would really thrive there. Not sure a 6’1 off guard can play a lot of minutes at a high division 1. Still loved the kid and I hope he has success wherever he lands.
Yeah, I appreciate the contribution he’s brought to the program, but the problem with DGL is, he’s an undersized shooting guard who can’t shoot.

A little late, but I'll miss Dra. I have nothing but respect for how he fought for minutes his freshman year. A lot of guys would have looked at the older players ahead of him and packed it in, but he gave Brad a reason to put him in even as we were on our way to our best finish since 2005. There's a lot to be said for that. Unfortunately, he couldn't quite keep up the same intensity in his second year. Honestly, I get it. I was a former D1 athlete and my career didn't totally go the way I would have hoped. It's just really hard to let it not affect you over a prolonged period.

I hope he goes to a high mid-major and gets the green light to do his thing. The best version of him is absolutely electrifying. Score those buckets. Get consistent on defense. Make the most of your career, young man. I'll be cheering for you.

DGL had a nice stretch that seemed to turn after he didn’t get back in for OT in the Nebraska loss. May be misremembering but he was a big reason we clawed back into that one and just didn’t seem to have the same fire after the way that unfolded. Will always remember him fondly in the O&B and hope he can break through on his next roster.

Agree with continuity, but DGL is a 6'1" playmaking style guard that doesn't shoot outside well enough to get people on him to use his speed and explosiveness to beat them to the rim. He's not a PG or really even a combo guard. He's just an athletic kid who does have some mid range game as well.

It hurts me to say, because he stayed an extra year fought his way into the rotation for a bit before fading and by all accounts, just a great kid. He's not a player at this level right now. I think he will dominate at a lower level where the floor is bigger due to smaller and less athletic opponents.

I'll actually predict that DGL stays high major and maybe even ends up at a pretty good program. He fills a role that a lot of teams can use, even if it ends up similar to what he could do here. It's just kinda nature of the beast at this point that guys don't stay in the same place to come off the bench for 4 years.

I wish that DGL worked out for us, and I don't think I understand why he didn't. But this definitely seems like one of those transfers out that makes sense for everyone involved. I do hope that he ends up in a place where he can be a dude because it does feel like he has that in him. Just please, come on...don't pull a Morez...

As much as people are rightfully praising him for his athleticism, effort and dedication, his stats are rough. 25% from 3, more turnovers than assists, and undersized as a high major PG. Love how he embraced his role when there were a couple guys ahead of him. Be interesting to see where his next stop is. Definitely rooting for him.

I mean let's be honest once teams started to figure out KJ his stats were rough and he couldn't play really any defense. He also had the keys to the system. So it can go both ways.
