I don't think we'll know what this team really is until some time in June like last year.
But I'd really like for the Illini to get transfer commitments from Sellers, Dix, and Big Z in this month of April. And then continue to work on other potential transfers as we move toward June. It seems that Illinois got "lucky late" a year ago. I don't want us to count on that happening again.

How much (approximately) is Keyshawn Hall asking for? Oh well, too bad. His measurables and his stats are very good. Plus, he looks very good in his videos. I thought he could be a nice fit as a stretch-4 next season. He also looked like he could play the 2 or the 3. Positionless basketball?
This is the guy I've been hoping we would get ever since his name was brought up the other day. I could kick in a few dollars if it helps.😁

No, you just have to speak Gritty, what he means is we can't have everything we want and the insiders will likely be wrong on at least one recruit so "don't get your hopes up"

"Line going dead" means it's been 24 hours since someone has posted that we're in the lead for Sarr
The Gritty whisperer! LOL

There is a lot of thought in CBB that they will just go to the 5 years of eligibility for everyone no matter what model …
and that's based on.......greed?

kids are now graduating in 3 years, yet for some reason they're looking to add a year of eligibility. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

I hope that he finds success. I enjoyed watching him here. I thought that he gave an honest effort every time that he laced 'em up for us. Did he try to do too much individually on offense at times? Sure. But particularly toward the end of the season I felt that he was one of our top contributors on both ends of the floor.

Good luck Tre, wherever you might choose to ply your trade. Unless we're playing your team.

If he goes to Kansas it really shows how much that program has slipped.
Self absolutely positively looked and sounded checked out this season.

He's got a lot of reasons to keep doing it ($$) but he's a guy that's also been long set for life. It might not even motivate him. Very possible he's one of those coaches that became disenchanted with college basketball with NIL. It's a lot more work for these guys than it's ever been. In and out of season.

Good find, HH71. Looks like this player could be an asset to next season's Illini. He's maybe a little more "affordable" than some other players (for NIL purposes)? Do you think he's good enough to start at the PF position for the Illini? Or do you think he would be more of a front court backup?
He’s definitely good enough to start he had 24 points and 6 rebounds in a 7 point loss to Duke in the ACC tourny playing all 40 minutes which is definitely better than our guys fared

His career arc is unusual- he’s gotten better and more productive as he’s gone up a level and his season stats for GT don’t tell the story of how good he was the second half after he was starting - good 3 point shooter but has the athleticism to be a good slasher and rebounder inside as well- can guard the perimeter which is why I thought he could be the PF, I see him rotating with the Ivisic brothers all getting 25-30 min

Kentucky and Memphis are already in on him so it won’t be without a battle and with Memphis involved who knows what the NIL would be but theoretically it should not be as high as others given his profile and what he likely got this year as a 6th man to start the year
