A selfish, overrated player who clowned us last offseason, sucked at Kansas and is now quitting on them too, and is making Oliver Twist eyes at us for the home state bonus he turned his nose up at 12 months ago?

Give me a break. Creating obvious culture problems for no reason, with a skillset that's extremely fungible in the portal.

It really isn't.
It all depends on where his head is at currently. You have to remember these are very young men. Maturity comes later for some than others, but often when the switch flips, its dramatic. His experience at KU was likely an eyeopener. The bench is the ultimate humility tool, and he got a big dose of it late last season.

He was, however, one of the best players on the floor in their tournament loss to Arkansas, so the stuff that made him an All B1G player is still in there.

Still leaning we get him, but not even sure Josh has made up his mind yet, lol.

If he had suddenly discovered maturity and perspective, he'd be sticking out his commitment to Self and Kansas.

And there's an understandable tendency to associate the way someone plays with their character, and maybe there's some truth to it, but a more enlightened perspective on life isn't going to change the fact that Storr is an inefficient empty calories chucker. That's just what he is as a basketball player. Volume scoring can be valuable, but we want to play in a different way.

Hard, hard no from me. We're just not learning the lessons of Portal World as well as we should if we even entertain this.

If the price is what I’ve been told … Immediate take … Sign him today …

And it’s real simple … If he doesn’t wanna buy in, or just simply isn’t playing good … He can sit on the bench or quit the team …

But the upside is crazy …
Storr could benefit from a 'my way or the highway' type in BU. Look at Tre, his play turned around quickly after some motivation via the bench.

This player retention talk reminds me of the saying. “The good news is we have everybody back. The bad news is we have everybody back.”

Moreover, look at how Storr's production and percentages dipped at Kansas as he had to share the court with other very talented players and eventually adapt to his role as it changed throughout the season. If he had a Tre White moment mid-season, would he respond to it the way Tre did? Doubtful. The college season is too short to take this gamble.

A Storr transfer reminds me too much of the Matt Mayer sitch. Loose canon with selfish tendencies.

If we lose on Sarr and we had a true 4 year Captain like Trent or DMFW….maybe Storr could be a fit.
But we don’t have that and we need a…team.

I think the difference is Mayer was recruited to be the guy, or at least one of the key players on the team. My interpretation is that Storr's price is so low he wouldn't impact our ability to get other guys we want for that role, and that Storr would be a guy who would have to earn his minutes; and if he doesn't it's not a real impact to the outlook for the season. In that scenario, I like it.

If I'm wrong and they'd be counting on him as a key contributor, then my (completely irrelevant) vote changes to no.

Some of you are just crazy wanting to pass on Storr if the price is right. You can possibly get an all big ten player on the low. Sure you can also end up with Booth type player. When his goal is to be NBA at some point he gonna have to learn what will get him there and attitude that will get him there. I'm positive that's his goal so next season right fit and right attitude he could be an absolute steal. In a market that is going crazy why wouldn't you risk a chance at a cheaper guy who can be an all star. The talent is there and if attitude goes there as well you just got the steal of the portal and moved middle of pack to top of pack. For right price I would go all in on Storr and get him now.

I know other Dix that didn’t always make a sound decision and led to regret.

2nd/3rd Team All-American ceiling for the price that Illinois would pay a 6th man? Sign me up.

If he doesn't fall in where he fits in this summer then he can redshirt or get 86'd. Give me an Illinois kid with his back against the wall and a chance for redemption. We took that gamble with Kylan AND we have experience with crazy mommas.

Unless i missed it in any of the recruiting threads, we don't know the story behind Storr leaving Kansas. We do know he shouldn't and probably won't get the $ he got last year so it's not about $. Is it truly about fit? A different coaching staff?

I know it's only two years, but next year will be Kylan's team, and I think he's wired like the captain we need for next season.

On the odd chance Dix is goes elsewhere. I'd pivot hard for Storr and take that money and go after a top 4 like Quintance, Yaxel, etc...

Heck that might be my preferred pivot

A Yaxel/Quintance paired with Tomi and Z could be the best front court in America.

Think I just sold myself on Storr.
