You bring him in to prove it in practice … He knows this is his last shot to get it right …

Tre White didn’t exactly come with the greatest baggage … That turned out alright for us …

You roll the dice on a guy who’s from the state and is an 1st Team All Big Ten level dude …
Storr would almost certainly be a backup plan if we miss on Dix/Sarr, etc right? If he knows it's his last shot, would have to assume he'd rather go down a step to be the guy and showcase his abilities rather than be 7th man getting 10-15 min.

I assume we would not count on him to be 'the guy' (or at least I hope not.) But the upside is there, he showed that in the BTT. Seems like a no brainer to at least reach out.

Tre situation is a good comp. Higher ceiling with Storr.

2017-18 - Rockford Lutheran HS
2018-19 - Kankakee HS
2019-20 - Bishop Gorman HS
2020-21 - AZ Compass Prep
2021-22 - IMG Academy
2022-23 - St. Johns
2023-24 - Wisconsin
2024-25 - Kansas

The story would be if he'd actually stayed somewhere another year.
Let's not forget the commit to IL in high school and then backing out. Then possibly privately doing the same thing last year

My opinion - he’d be successful as a second option …

I also don’t worry about him as a culture fit … Bam, Tomi, Ty … They’re the keepers of the culture …

Bam deserves a lot of credit for how he handled the Tre situation and keeping that kid engaged and getting his mind right … He’s a leader of men …

I trust Kylan and Ty to keep AJ focused and bought in … And hey if AJ doesn’t wanna buy in … That’s fine … 🍑 meet bench …

First go around … Chin left … I got no problem with that de commitment …

Second go around … He didn’t sign … He didn’t commit … People may not like it but the players control the game in today’s world … He simply played the game to what he thought was his advantage … It didn’t work out … Now we get to say I told you so and buy low …

I'm not saying these guys are not "takes" but something about these players who transfer year after year after year scare me. Risks as far as EDGs.

That’s all of CBB …

The key is simple … You can bring in transfers but who’s the gate keeper of the culture …

For us it’s Bam, Ty and Tomi … Those guys steer the ship for Brad and bring the other guys along and show them the culture …

Tre was a higher rated recruit in the same class in high school and is a more talented, more complete, more versatile, just straight up better basketball player than Storr.

I'm genuinely surprised people are falling for this. If the insiders propagandized it as a buy-low opportunity for a chastened player, would people embrace Jayden Epps coming back? I have to believe no, right? Why is this different? Storr is at the absolute most a marginally better player.

The upside of shooting 8-23 vs. Purdue in the semis and 7-20 against IL in the finals? Gritty is correct--he is an inefficienct scorer that doesn't do much else. Pass at any price.

At the time, I remember people saying the WI offense held him back. It seems more likely that he held the WI offense back.

If we land Dix, and when how much talent everywhere else (Kylan, Ty, Ivisic, possibly Big Z, Sellers) not sure I quite see that.

I guess IMO it's just a "be wherever you earn yourself on the roster" type of thing. Whether that's the 1st option or the 8th option 🤷‍♂️

So was that a reflection of him making bad choices, or a teenager being led astray by a parent/guardian? I mean we all know that never happens. /s Was he a known troublemaker in the locker room? Maybe it’s a little of all of it. I know that some times the legends, or villains like to grow on here. Sometimes deserved and other times not. Just my opinion.

I’d like both … I think Storr is a fantastic pivot if Sarr doesn’t wind up coming to fruition …

I’d also just take Storr no matter what if he wants to come …
Give me Storr over Sarr - older guy, and proven at the B10 level. People are forgetting - the guy averaged 16/game in the B10 and was a very high profile prospect.

Just because things didn't work out for him for one year and made some (presumably) wrong decisions, automatic pass - just an amusingly ignorant narrative.

Unless i missed it in any of the recruiting threads, we don't know the story behind Storr leaving Kansas. We do know he shouldn't and probably won't get the $ he got last year so it's not about $. Is it truly about fit? A different coaching staff?

To me the most logicial explanation is KU learning a lesson in evaluation. He shot over 40% from 3 his freshman year at StJ, and although that went down at Wiscy, his volume was way up and he still had an ok 32%. At KU he shot 29% and was down in terms of productivity/efficiency almost across the board. Can't imagine they'd offer him much, and a reset might be his best chance at both minutes and his bag. Gotta be tough when you've trended in the wrong direction.

One of my criticisms of BU, is that the all gas no breaks, everyone jack it up,leaves no place for defensive stoppers/enforcers or athletic BIG men at the 4 who can put the ball on the floor like the players you mentioned. Those teams take of soft team's lunch money. I think this is why everyone was big on Amani and Dain. I said it in the last post we need a PF like Laimbeer, Rodman or my illini fav blue #22 truck driving Lucas Johnson.
