Is Adam Miller going to be going into the portal? Just saw he has eligibility left and not sure why anyone would be locked in to ASU. His freshman and senior stat lines are very similar. He did raise his percentages, but the numbers are about the same. One of my biggest wonders of what could have been...

The UNC board is saying that Ian is asking for $3m. I mean he had like 5-6 games where he was electric. He definitely lacked consistency like most freshmen do. Didn’t play much defense. I mean if you were willing to pay $2m+ for Dix, then Jackson’s ceiling is higher but probably a lower floor too. It would be risky to pay $3m for him. But it’s not my money.

If we go the route on adding all these European dudes again, which I don’t like, Brad will have to coach them on learning how to make crisp passes and take good quality shots. I can’t take “the KJ and Tomi show” with different, unathletic, Euros.

He's actually a much more efficient shooter, and doubled his assists, compared to freshman year. Honestly, if he'd be willing to accept a bench 3-and-D type role I wouldn't mind having him back. He put up some nice numbers last season at ASU.

I’d rather take a reduced price Storr and use some of that money you saved somewhere else.

attactiveness of NBA also depends on who is going to draft you

TSJ got buried on bench by Finalist Timberwolves. If he goes mid first round to

Jazz 10
Bulls 11
Trailblazers 14
Heat 15
Lakers 18

instead of Timberwolves 27 he might be seeing a lot more playing time.

Nobody wants to go to G-league

If Will does poorly at draft camp and ends up at end of first round, compared to coming back to Illinois next year and being lottery pick - that is an interesting choice.

Will did not light it up from 3 point. His last 10 game sure was really based on cutting or driving to hoop and scoring from short range against smaller players. MIght not work in draft camp because A) nobody passes B) if there is a 7 ft shotblocker on the floor he will swat Will's shot.

JMO - I would rather get $2M-$3m to stay one more year at Illinois then go to G-league.
To be clear- I think Will would come back rather than be a G league player- that’s why he’s going through the process and getting input as he should- I think he’s an NBA player and if he’s not drafted high enough this year, come back and dominate and be in a better spot next year- he’s still young enough

Do we have any concerns that we’re leaning too heavily on the European side while struggling to engage with major U.S. players? It might be nothing, but it feels like a troubling pattern. With the resources we have, we shouldn’t be having any issues connecting with the portal guys. @Indy Illini Fan
Oh it appears we are engaging with them. Just not reeling many of them in. Where would we have been this year without the European players.

i guess you're right, but .8 to 1.9 doesn't blow me away for guy who claimed he wanted to go be a point guard. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but assists are clearly not his thing

I think “did not light it up from 3” is very accurate. Even when one breaks it into two “halves” like you did 34.4% from 3 isn’t lighting it up. If it is, a lot of people on here might owe Ben an apology since he “lit it up” to the tune of 34.3% from 3 for whole season.

I have concerns for sure. I think we need to make some hires that increase our cache on the US side. Someone has to be hired to fix the Tim Anderson/Tyler/Hamer type issues. I think that is the US side problem right now.

Wings are the highest priced commodities. Getting 2 of Jackson/Sarr/Haggarty/Will is a pipe dream.

I think you pick your horse and ride him. Use other wing starting spot on someone that can play & move off ball/catch and shoot. Will would be the clear #1 choice IMO as he can do all the above. JT Toppin reportedly getting $4m to go back to Texas Tech. JMO You're looking at something there or north of for these options. If not willing, you're not getting them & probably looking at AJ Storr or the like off the "discount bin".

Well I wouldn't want him as a PG and he appears to have abandoned those ambitions. His increased assists are just a small bonus. The draw would be his 43% 3pt shooting.
Having Adam Miller back on the roster would make me feel like the Illinois program is regressing. No matter what role he comes back for. BH is a better 3 and D guy in my opinion. And that is saying something 😂

I'd like to see an American player and concentrate on Jackson. What a get imo.

You can only sign the kids who want to come to C-U. Hence the Europeans. I would not take Sencire and Amani over KJ and Tomas.

Yes I would love a roster like 2005 Roger SR (Kankakee) Brown JR (Proviso) Luther SR (Manley CPL) James (New Lenox - near Joliet) and Deron TX

Unfortunately kids don't stay 3-4 years and don't stay in-state.

Even Indiana legendary hotbed of HS basketball -- only 2 of top 8 players on IU went to HS there.
- Renaue - FL
- Ballo - Mali
- Mgbako - NJ
- Rice - SC
- Goode - Fort Wayne IN
- Galloway IN
- Tucker MD
- Carlyl GA
