Is he the one we’ve been waiting for?

Looks like an great fit to play with Kylan- both can get to the rim and shoot and willing passers

I think Dylan would be a fantastic backup point guard get. But would be surprised if he's "the one" that's been referred too. Kylan and him would be pretty small.

I imagine the piece they're waiting on, outside of Sarr, is a bigger 2/3 guard. Just my guess though.

I think Cedric Coward would be exactly what we need as the versatile PF to play against the smaller 4 men. He’s only 6’6 but has a 7 ft wingspan and is strong enough to guard bigger guys. I just think he solves a lot of holes for us and can play on the wing if we go big. I hope we make him a priority, even if we have to overpay to get him. If we get him and Sarr and defense and athleticism improve dramatically and we can go with more of a pure shooter at SG and don’t need to break the bank there

Here’s a good write on Coward
Coward is high on my wishlist as well. Great size, plays hard. Sometimes it seems like getting those western kids east of the Rockies can be a challenge though.

If he sucked so bad how come he was all B10 2 years ago. He is a great slasher, cutter, gets fouled, and he is better than Jake, Ty, and Ben. He is likely trying to get the most he $$ he can and be in a better system. He is still the same guy many wanted last year and likely fit our system better with the twins and Boz than anyone currently on our roster.
He is not worth it. Whoever decides to take him and puts him at the 2 guard for 32 minutes a game you are getting a guy that will average 16 shots at a 40% clip and 5 attempts from 3 at 30% and 2 rebounds a game. You can literally get that from any half way decent guard. He is not worth it.

Because empty scoring numbers get attention, and that Wisconsin system is built to have a high-volume wing pile up points. Storr was nowhere near a top 10 player in the B1G. John Tonje, a better basketball player, stepped in and that role and the team got much better.

I dont mean to keep doggin on this dude, but I am not understanding this at all. I know he put up big scoring average, but his game is horrendously ugly. He's quick but not really athletic and his shot is slow and weird. I don't see any way his game translates to the B1G even as a bench player. But what do I know.
I think weirdo below the rim junkballers are beautiful

I think a small forward that can basically play the 4 is the ideal fit. Basically someone big and strong enough to hold up inside on defense while playing on the perimeter offensively.

Everyone seems to have gone radio silent so I have no clue what's going on but I would be ecstatic with Jamir Watkins, Sarr, and a big guard (I also like Coward a ton).
You don't say? I can't imagine anyone wouldn't be ecstatic with Watkins and Sarr.

Does that mean BU is in Portland today and will be watching the Nike Summit?

That's one of the best front courts in the conference next year.
What are you hearing on Ben? I’ve been of the mindset that I’d love to see him return for both continuity and potential growth as a player with a year in the system under his belt. This is assuming, of course, the price is right and the expectations on both sides are in sync.

Like your last sentence said, if they both can agree, he will be back.

Since both Big Z and Markovic can hit the 3 I suspect unless Ben is willing to stay for 5 digits he has been replaced. I would love it if he stayed for continuity, experience (5th year) hustle and 3 point shooting. But it would probably be 10-15 mpg role. He would be nice insurance for injuries. I thought Ben adjusted last 10 games of season - less shooting, more hustle, better defense, more passing. I don't know what he got in $NIL last year.

This guy has probably been scouted over 100 times. Whether he scores 30 or 6, given how the NBA drafts....the needle won't move based on one performance. They know. They're paid to ignore outliers in either direction.

If that weren't the case, Riley would be back given how he looked versus Kentucky and KJ's January thru March....same deal.

Well ok… seems likely… unless he is better than we though. Have no idea… was a red shirt. He is bigger now. 3 star recruit… so was Josh Dix!

Illinois loves Cedric Coward.

Some of the other names mentioned in Illinois circles...MEH.

Kicking the tires doesn't indicate high interest, at least not yet.
Coward seems like he would be a great fit with a ton of upside. I guess you’d hope he might be slightly less expensive than someone like Ian Jackson, but I’d be thrilled if we managed to land him.

My vote would be to lock up a good upperclassman 2 guard that can defend, score in transition and shoot. Since we have such a big front court I am less concerned about size of 2 guard. I would make my best offer to Jackson but force him to accept it quickly or pull it and move on. With somebody like Coward signed you can wait on Sarr. If Will comes back my guess is somebody decommits. Nobody is signing binding LOI's any more.
