Getting a Chicago kid going back to Illinois… so great for the program. We love Adam ❤️ have rooted for him since he left. LETS GOOO

**Peoria** …

I truly believe if it was up to Adam … He never would’ve left Illinois …

He’s a proven guard, a leader and a kid where the front of the jersey means more than the back …

I want those kind of guys … He’s gonna have the freaking fire and be ready to go every night …

Been a crazy busy week … Apologies for the limited posts … Here’s the updates …

Ace Wolf … Fully expect him to be an Illini … Wants to win … Wants to do it back at home … Really, really solid role player …

Sarr … Meeting with him today … Number is going to be $2.5 million and Duke is very much involved, they aren’t exactly thrilled with how the Ament recruitment is going and don’t wanna miss on both …
Is there an estimated timeline for Sarr’s decision?

That's actually what I was thinking...
Possibly Adam Miller?
Me and @Heisenbobble posted at the same time. We both deserve a cookie!

I think they would need 2 more proven scorers.

Pass for me on Miller if he's anythiing more than your 4th or 5th guard.

I think you and Troop have unrealistic expectations. Miller is a solid guard, can defend, shot 42.9% from 3, played nearly 30 minutes a game, average over 10 pts a game over 3 years as a starter. He was a top 40 recruit as was Boz who is also a 3 year starter in power conferences. Sarr is likely a first round pick next season. If you don't think that's a solid back court and want better then we need some help raising about 5 million extra bucks. Boswell and Sarr would be likely as good a pair as in the country not just the B10. I'd love this back court and the line up construction after how Mirkovic and Sarr played last night and how Boz finished the year. Would it have been nice to add Toppin or others with a blank check? Sure but that's not how this works. We have a football program now and there comes a point where resources are limited. I mean now much better than 3 year power 5 starter thats now 42.9 % from 3 and a solid defender .

I’d take miller back in a second. But also sad that DGL left. Highly rated HS player that showed faith in coming here in the first place. Feels like a failure by the coaching staff to develop a good player. Hope he kills it in Vegas.

Anyone else a little confused for the first few minutes with Mirkovic wearing #8 and also Markovic wearing #6 (which also looked like an 8 to me)? I figured out Markovic was taller and had shorter hair after a while but the 6 really looked like an 8 on those dark jerseys haha

Anyway, watching the game... Mirkovich had 8 first quarter points and then they seemed to play Markovich instead for most of the 2nd half. He made a couple 3s but was mostly getting absolutely abused on D/glass by Boozer and ended the game with by far a team worst -19 in the +/- while Mirkovich ended at +2
Had the same problem, especially when in together. I used Mirk’s red shoes and darker hair to tell them apart.

just adding to what others have already said, Mirkovic was the real deal against top level competition that was playing legit basketball (full court press, actual half court defense). a couple of plays he was limited in d by athleticism but overwhelming on both sides of the court he was smooth, well controlled and more than able to match the competition.

im super excited for him to come. in along with the twin towers , they can create front court mismatches the entire game.

Likely towards the end of May is the word I’ve heard …

We’re also keeping tabs on the Will Riley situation … I fully expect him to be a 1st rounder and for him to go to the NBA but crazier things have happened …
On Will- I agree he should be a first rounder and go this year, but I can see him not testing well at the combine. His measurables will not be good- wingspan as has been discussed has measured less than his height which I believe only one player at last year’s combine had that. He also only had a max vertical of 30.25” last summer which would have been one of the worst at last years combine and worse than Edey to put it in perspective. His strength/ agility / speed times likely won’t be great either. That could hurt his stock and maybe another year with Fletch could improve his speed/agility/max vertical and get him in the lottery next year with an all-big ten season. I can see that scenario unfolding, and it’s absolutely worth it for him to wait a year if it’s late first/early second round vs lottery

1. Run risk of sitting on bench at Duke
2. KJ can vouch for Brad and Illinois
3. Nice Euro teamates at Illinois - tomas, big Z, and Mirkovic

4th or 5th you're crazy. He would be great as a 3rd guard.
Agree fully as your third best guard. I am concerned he would be coming in as the second best, do truly wonder if not having a true PG is also a concern, but I have a lot of confidence in Boswell.
