Where does this leave us with the kid from Washington St and Ben?

just adding to what others have already said, Mirkovic was the real deal against top level competition that was playing legit basketball (full court press, actual half court defense). a couple of plays he was limited in d by athleticism but overwhelming on both sides of the court he was smooth, well controlled and more than able to match the competition.

im super excited for him to come. in along with the twin towers , they can create front court mismatches the entire game.
He actually was one of team worlds best post defenders against the big guys in the post. Something we missed last season. Glad to have a little more beef in the post especailly after an offseason with Fletch!

I recall Miller’s defense was not bad his freshman year. Anyone more knowledgeable able to weigh in how that has held up during his travels? Wonder if the injury had an impact.

If we get Miller you have some insurance if you are unable to get Sarr. I think Mirkovic replaced Ben. More upside. If Ben wants to come back at price bench role ok.

If we are really going after Adam Miller, it shows how far behind we are with the portal as well as casts a dim outlook of the kids we are currently going after. I wouldn’t spend a dime on Miller - he is simply not worth it.

It was very confusing on court. Number 6 looked like number 8. Both white PF on same team.

Agree wholeheartedly with this post. His combine numbers will be atrocious. We all saw that he can barely dunk (or was afraid to), I doubt he can even put up one rep of a bench press at 185, and his lateral agility needs a lot of work if he plans on staying in front of opposing guards. He finally found his shot later in the year which caught the eyes of many - but the first half of the year he was mostly a D3 player. I think another year would tremendously help his value and brand.

What happened to Illini or NBA as the two options for Sarr? Even reported on here at one point Duke was told there was no interest.

I know we're all fawning over Sarr, but I'd rather spend that 2.5 million on WR. I do understand WR will probably declare for the draft, and we need a stud, but you never know.

What about that game would make you change your mind?

I still see a highly skilled big man with below average athleticism and quite frankly a poor vertical. He is the anti-Morez. Morez was a great athlete for a PF and not terribly skilled (at this point). It will be interesting to see how they differ in their performance.

I still think we're going to need to scheme up Mirkovic because he just doesn't have the quickness to do much on his own. I also will be curious to see how he rebounds. He has a very large frame, but he's going to be going up against guys that are significantly better leapers. We'll learn his bball IQ quickly, can he get things done without the athleticism against more athletic players night in and night out.

Sarr … Meeting with him today … Number is going to be $2.5 million and Duke is very much involved, they aren’t exactly thrilled with how the Ament recruitment is going and don’t wanna miss on both …
Not the update on Sarr I was hoping for- it would be good to get his commitment even knowing he still might go through the NBA process - it’s getting into a bidding war with Duke that I’m worried about

Pretty sure that was Markovic, Mirkovic has 8 pts on 3-5...at least on boxscore I just checked...apologies if I'm wrong.

**Peoria** …

I truly believe if it was up to Adam … He never would’ve left Illinois …

He’s a proven guard, a leader and a kid where the front of the jersey means more than the back …

I want those kind of guys … He’s gonna have the freaking fire and be ready to go every night …
Maybe this will finally put the "no one who starts with Brad finishes their last year of eligibility playing for Brad" narrative to bed, lol
