I'm not upset he wants to come back. Im just not thrilled about where are recruiting is at that we really need to entertain the prospect. We should already have solid transfer starters on the way with solid bench players ready to go so that we aren't looking at the 5th leading scorer of a terrible team regardless of who it is.

I guess that’s were I’m at. Just a couple of years ago we were nabbing multiple top 15 kids - Meyer and TsJ in the same class. There was all sorts of buzz about us as such a being such a threat in recruiting and the transfer portal. Now we can’t seem to land a single kid with the top 30. Not sure what happened?

There was all sorts of buzz about us as such a being such a threat in recruiting and the transfer portal. Now we can’t seem to land a single kid with the top 30. Not sure what happened?

Other schools got in on NIL and relaxed transfer requirements. (Looking at you, Michigan.)

Would love to have Ace back! We need another player that understands Illinois basketball culture. Good veteran leadership too. Always good to have a kid from Peoria on the squad as well!

Could have used some guys with an edge in a few games this season.

The edge is best used on the court to change the game’s momentum, rather than being tossed while losing.

Maybe you should check for when TSJ and Meyer transfered to Illinois, the actual month, before going all "We can't get anyone now!" Guys that will enter the portal after the NBA stuff aren't even available yet. You are just as bad as the dummies releasing top 25 lists for next year.

That team had a much different sell..complete vacuum

Entire starting line-up gone from the prior year (trent, plum, belo, kofi, damonte, grandy all started at points), some of the next up guys gone (podz, rj). Huge vacuum. We had what? Coleman and goode returning as sophs and dain on a redshirt as the top guys

We have a much better starting point this year with guys like KB , tomi, ty back...Big z is 35th in the portal rankings and mirk feels like a pretty good get...having tomi/kb retnetion in the fold is probably akin to having 2 top 25sh guys in the portal (shrug)

And further, we didnt have either of TSJ or Mayer in the fold at this time. TSJ was end of april and mayer end of may

That was what I was thinking....Ty ran the point fairly well his first season....given that he's older, more experienced, and stronger I would think he'd hold his own at the point for short stretches to back up KB

Miller was ejected from a one-point loss to Kansas State on Feb. 4 for making contact with an opposing player. Because it was deemed a fighting ejection, it garnered a suspension for the next game, a 13-point loss at Oklahoma State.

But he was again ejected the next game for expressing his displeasure with a technical foul call, earning a second technical in the process
