Have to go back to donors and ask for more $. Sounds like some are willing to play ball.

Cost of potential stars has remained fairly static, but bench guys are asking more, so…

An issue with many of the players mentioned is they are one dimensional. Illinois wants a versatile player for a backup roll, even if it’s a less sexy name.

Context is kind of important. His higher shooting percentage last season came with a reduction in shots. It's pretty clear that at LSU and his first season at ASU he was being asked to be "the guy," and as a result was taking a lot of contested, low quality shots. He led his team in 3pt attempts both of those seasons (and by a considerable margin at LSU). Last season he was given the freedom of not being the primary option, or even secondary, scoring option, and he flourished. He was 4th in 3pt attempts, despite having the best percentage on the team. It's pretty clear his role with us would be a lot more like his role last season, rather than the prior two seasons.

Appreciate the response. It's good to go down this thought process because his role would be different at Illinois. The contextual improvement this year is worth exploring further.

- He shot 51% from 3 at home, but 37% from 3 anywhere else.
- Maybe you think the home/road splits were flukey this past season, but his 23-24 splits at ASU are also wildly variable.
- In the past two years, he has shot 32% from 3 anywhere besides ASU's home arena.
- He shot 48% from 3 against unranked non-conference teams, but 41% against anyone else.

That's the rub, he has a lot of data saying he's not a good shooter and this year he saw a big jump. Is that based on a changing role? Did he feast on poor competition? It's both. But I can't believe that this year is a completely different shooting Adam Miller going forward and that his shooting is improved enough to carry the poor metrics (passing, rebounding, defense, o/d splits) to be anything beyond playing limited minutes for a good team.

I have NEVER seen a shot diet like this.

Over 88% (EIGHTY EIGHT PERCENT) of his shots were 3s last year. 238 3PA out of 270 total FGA.

And he hit them at a fantastic clip, especially for such a high volume - 100 for 238 (40.7%). I want him

Add in the 93% FT% and man that’s super enticing

Had to look it up, 23-24 Goode was 87% shots from 3.

I wanted him last year … Got told by many on this board he wasn’t good enough and Hum Brick House was so much better …

Imagine if we had him instead of Hum Brick House … All we needed was a guy to shoot and make 3s … That’s what Monsanto does …
At least Brick House is not coming back, right? That's a small step in the right direction. We need shooters proven at the P4 level. Last year we had like an half.

I guess NIL is subject to the global inflation epidemic. Maybe we can raise tariffs to help fund it?

coming into this off-season, a reasonable expectation was probably that we could get at least two stud/no doubt starter level guys (alongside bringing back kylan and tomi). likeliest we probably won't even get one. far from a great offseason in my estimation.

Jeeeez...you are fun at parties. We'll get those 2 guys. Have faith. Tons of moving pieces still.
