Many of those programs dont have a top 8 paid head coach, the 8 highest valued program, a top 5 most profitable program, a top ten fan base and the potential NIL that we have.
Indiana does and they suck

But, then there are posters who reply to nearly every one of his posts. People have already (temporarily) ran off one of our top insiders. If you don't like what someone posts, use the ignore button. There are many of us here that search out "the same guy" because he has a history that has proven him to have inside info that most of us are not privy to. For that, I thank him, and all the insiders for giving us what they hear. Being an insider doesn't bar them from having an opinion. Criticizing an insider because he has an opinion that differs from yours adds little to the conversation.

We had the 2nd highest paid roster in the Big Ten last year … That’s a fact …
I'm willing to believe that (though not willing to bet my life on it).

That's not quite the same thing as saying we have the 2nd most NIL though is it? As we're seeing, in a marketplace this competitive, part of the trick is finding the right player willing to take the check.

People are spending an awful lot of money on this and if it's their check, they have every right to their opinions and demands. It's on BU and Josh to keep that relationship positive and productive.

But I would implore our donors to meet them halfway on that, appreciate the nationwide arms race happening, and have some appreciation for how significant the return on that investment has been relative to our actual competition, as opposed to the hopes and dreams in the moment of signing those checks.

Two legitimate B1G titles and two BTT titles in the last 5 years. If you think you're doing better for the same money, you're just whistling towards disaster.

I'm guessing Oregon.

Whatever amount of NIL Phil Knight wants them to have. Sarr just played at the Nike Hoops Summit

If there was a coach available that was significantly better than Brad Underwood in the form of proven results, you'd have 20 other programs with the same budget or higher also offering him a job as well.

His seats been warming up for a while …

7th in the Big Ten and only beating a double digit seed with the 2nd best NIL support in the Big Ten isn’t gonna cut it …
It is a results oriented business. There is simply no way to overlook the lack of sustained postseason success, even if the regular season success has been phenomenal during Brad's tenure. I can completely understand this upcoming season being a make or break year. It is hard to get mega donors to dig deep in their pockets for a product that will fizzle in the first weekend of the tourney (or if they perceive that to be the ultimate result). Once the donors decide to close their wallets, then Josh will be forced to make a move.

I am still optimistic that we will have a good team next season, but warning signs are fast approaching (or are already here).

Is the rumor Sarr to Ducks? We know where those bags are coming from. But where is Purdont and UM getting the $$$. I don't fault BU for not being able to set a NIL budget in this environment. Whatever you think it should be, add about $5-7M for hyperinflation? Player NIL demands $ grow exponentially week to week. This in 2008 housing market in warp drive. This house of cards will come falling down too.

Also after watching the protal last year - prices only go up the more desperate teams become.

Where is our AD in all of this? I thought the goal was to consistently be upper tier, win BIG every few years or to be near the top, and consistently get to the Dance and occasionally make a deep run. It just sounds more and more like Brad isn't the guy than will do this and just doesn't have the charisma and reputation to draw in top recruits. Also, do we have a plan to compete financially with the top 10 programs?

This is what charisma and reputation look like these days:

Anyone who thinks Sarr would go to Miami because of the charisma of the coaching staff as opposed to the bigger bag of money and beaches/weather is quite silly indeed.

Dude, you, Indy and FL are light years apart in your feelings about things. They're painting a picture of doom and you feel like we're nailing down a "really good" team.

There's a lot riding on the outcome with relates to our insider's reputations!

There is certainly some spiraling going on, but I think this time some of the concern and criticism is warranted.

As someone who typically views things from a positive light (and I am pro-Brad), I will say this; we tend to justify this staff's whiffs. We did it all last offseason and convinced ourselves we had an elite team.

Weeks ago, it was we had a great core and are going to go get two studs to complement them. Last week, it was the surprise that Ace was maybe coming, but would be a bench role. This week, it is Sarr is likely gone and "duh, Ace is going to be a starter!"

We move the bars too often. I thought our standard was win the B1G and make a Final Four? Now, can we still make some huge adds and this all goes away? Sure. But the message coming from the staff down to the insiders is one that isn't inspiring confidence. Hopefully they have something up their sleeve.

I’m hearing 4 schools for Sarr …

USC, Oregon, Miami and BYU …
