O/D rating can be noisy, it is often affected by the players you share the court with. Example: if you go look as Boswell's DRtg, it doesn't look great, but we know he is absolutely a plus defender.

In Andrej's case, that Cal team was absolutely handicapped on offense. They had 2 bigs that were non-shooters, and then the other rotation players weren't good shooters either. There was no floor spacing, Andrej was probably counted on many times per game to bail their offense out after primary/secondary actions didnt pan out. They also had no point guard.

Put him on a better team with floor spacing and adequate passing, you'll see those numbers tick upward without a doubt.

It’s hard to put up great numbers on a bad team. The advanced metrics, in particular, are very noisy and team dependent. (Basketball Reference has explanations on the site)

On pure coaching, that dude is super solid.
But I think he’s probably a little too much of a loose cannon…a guy that has too much baggage. JMO

There’s been a a little breeze around the complex that hopefully if an acceptable agreement can be met, we should get our next commitment announced before the end of the weekend. It’s always about the ‘bag’. Lol
Which leads me to how I really feel about college basketball and football to an extent. I grew up watching recruits develop into solid players. Excited when we got them but had to wait till they perfected their game. As we all know now you don’t have to recruit unless they are 5 stars or top 4 stars. They’ll leave because they are ready for the nba or leave because of playing time. Top money teams will always be at the top. I feel for every non power four school who knows they’ll loose any player they develop to lead their team. Every year.
I used to rather watch college than the pros. Not much difference anymore. College basketball sucks and football is right by its side.

Next years team is totally up in the air for me in terms of how good we will/could be. I think that Andrej is the first step we need to get a proven scorer, but will need to fill out the rest of the roster with an athletic wing and a vet PG. Also will depend on if one of the freshman will have a significant role, which I’m assuming will be Lee. Can’t keep waiting to get outbid at closing time. You’re not overpaying if everyone else is.
