Totally agree but imo the fear factor comes from knowing that even though a commitment and deal is done nothing has been made public or officially finalized. Other schools won’t stop offering back channel deals because it’s assumed he has a deal with Illinois. If Kentucky doubles our offer I would highly doubt this deal is done enough to make that offer meaningless.

I get it, I truly do. We’ve been nut punched too many times not to be instinctively cautious. But correct me if I’m wrong, Indy has never dropped a Denzel boom that hasn’t materialized. That boom carries a lot of trust.

Just my personal opinion, but the longer this goes without an announcement the worse I feel
Thank you for the insider information

But for real, we have every reason to be confident that the insiders are telling the truth.

Try Ashwaghanda, it’s great for stress relief (it’s a natural supplement you get at Walmart, not a drug)

This is objectively how you should feel. You don’t have to look past like two weeks ago. Miller was reported to have HEAVY interest. It drug out, his price went up, now he’s going elsewhere.

The longer a player is uncommitted, the higher the chance they don’t commit here. Thats just fact.

That what it would seem like - he's not on NBA radars and no matter how good of a season he has a 23 year old 6'1 - 6'2" PG probably isn't going to get drafted so he's likely looking at this as a way to play on a big stage, earn some money (we probably are paying him 50-100% more than what he was making) and enjoy the experience - and he'll be that much more marketable if he goes back to play in Europe afterward.

Now he could hit the portal after a year of course, so I think we should always consider everyone a one year guy, but if he has a good experience, no reason he doesn't stay for two and play an even bigger role in the offense his second year

can't discount the Fletch angle either

I know its the NFL draft today but nothing injects adrenaline like a bb recruitment commit

Except the insiders never claimed to have Adam miller completely wrapped up and signed, pending announcement. He was always up in the air and it was blatantly said that he would have to take less money to come here. We got multiple booms and plenty of direct info that Drej is locked up. It is not objective at all to feel this way and frankly is a bit “post hoc ergo propter hoc”

Hell, they will still be offering back channel deals even after he is committed.

Just remember, time kills all deals. It's reasonable to be confident that this is a done deal and that there is a good reason for the delay in announcing it, but the longer this drags out the more opportunity there is for something to go wrong.

It's as if no one respects the booms anymore! Without respect for the booms, we're no better than animals.

Thanks for making me do research this morning on a new Latin saying, going to add this to my arsenal of crap I say to sound smart lol
