If Andrej is actually on a visit with UNC he will not be an Illini. That being said if it is true that they are just working out the details and he is not planning on any other visits I am confident he is ours. Brad must lock this down to regain our confidence in his transfer portal recruiting abilities.

Admissions may be having a difficult time approving this student athlete with his past education from Stanford and Berkeley.

Go Illini!

Does anybody know what day Petrovic committed vs what day it was announced? That might give an indication of how long a delay we can expect with Stojakovic.

I think you are sleeping on how good Fland is, he was one of the best freshman in the country before he got hurt last year - not counting the three games in the tourny where he tried to comeback and play but was ineffective, he averaged
15.1 ppg
5.7 asst
3.4 reb
1.5 stl
1.4 TO
36.5% from three
50% on catch and shoot threes
This was as a freshman- those numbers are better than Kasparas, he’s an ultra quick ball handler who can be disruptive on defense and is a very good shooter and distributor- he can play PG or SG. Why wouldn’t we want him is my question!

Oh there's no doubt he's a great player - no argument there. My surprise at our interest in him has nothing to do with how good he is, and more to do with the fact that we already have Boswell and just got Petrovic's commitment. Just surprised that Brad would pay BIG bucks to 3 6'2" guards.

The answer to the question "why wouldn't we want him" is simply that there's an argument that the significant resources it would take to get Fland might be better spent at the wing or for some more defense/athleticism at the 4 or 5 spot.

But if we do end up getting him, I'll be thrilled - he's super talented and I'll just trust Brad and the staff to figure out any rotations/playing time issues between those 3.

I mentioned it last week, give me 2, 6.3ft p4 studs and 1, 6.6ft. and call it a day. I believe Ty is going to shock quite a few fans and BAM is the man. I am still worried about the 4 and missing a banger that can battle Maryland, Michigan st, and now Michigan.. Sometimes toughness is what wins a game.

Overall...as worried and torn up as most of this board is...

The insiders seem pretty damn calm and confident.

Recruiting is...fluid. Still the wild west, and if for some reason we don't get him. Pick it up and move to the next.

Also...a f*ckin tweet from a media goon who prolly reads this site beforehand with the title in all caps "BREAKING" Illinois lands Stojakovic, all this board will explode...and STILL he and anyone else can backout at any time without any warning. Nothing is for sure until they suit up for the first game.

Lmao, flying to Denver for training, just popped on to check on today’s drama.

Listening to James Taylor and no joke, as soon as I clicked on the thread….”in my mind I’m going to Carolina”🤣🤣

You’ve just created six months of intensified anxiety.

Here's my tongue in cheek guess for the reason for the holdup. His dad is replacing Hamer as a coach, but we need to wait until TA's salary is off the books. And Andrej wants to wait to a do a joint announcement with his dad
