Besides the obvious ability to stretch the floor? Dude has been an ace defensive player too.Honest Q, what does he give us that we don't already have with Ty? They seem very similar..not only on video but stats wise, particularly if you adjust for league.
Why does anyone still think Riley could come back? How has this not died yet?I'd be fine if they didn't add another stud - keep a spot open for Riley and then if he doesn't withdraw from the draft (and return to the Illini) at the deadline, take what you can get. We are in great shape "as is."
Too many minutes for Ben and the other PTs will depend heavily on match-ups IMO, something most of us agree that Brad excels at utilizing when he has the appropriate players which I think he now does.Assuming ~200 mpg to go around, will Ty/Ben be happy with this?
Andrej Stojakovic 31 mpg
Kylan Boswell 30 mpg
Tomislav Ivisic 25 mpg
Mihailo Petrovic 23 mpg
Ty Rodgers 23 mpg
Zvonimir Ivisic 21 mpg
David Mirkovic 17 mpg
Ben H 15 mpg
Jake Davis 10 mpg
Keaton Wagler 3 mpg
Brandon Lee 3 mpg
Without him we'd have no orange fizzy drink to consume! You take that back. Johnny Fanta is a national treasure.
Some people think Elvis lives on an island with Tupac...Why does anyone still think Riley could come back? How has this not died yet?

Will Riley having a bad showing at the Combine could make this team a consensus preseason Final Four team.As of today … With the potential addition of 1 more guy …

I think that the Illini could also use another "off the bench shooter" next season. Specifically, 6'6" 225-pound Senior Guard Damari Monsanto, who played for UT San Antonio this past season. Monsanto averaged 11.1/4.0/1.4 while shooting 40.7/42.0/93.3 for the season. Lots of experience, and a consistently elite 3-point shooter. Probably an affordable option also.I’m rooting for Ben. I think last year was hard for him. I’m also cautiously optimistic that he can take a jump next year. Think the game will slow down for him a bit and there should be less pressure on him in a smaller role. I could very easily see him excelling in a Luke Goode type role. 6-8 ppg on 40% 3pt shooting in 20ish minutes a game. We could have spent a lot more $$ and done a lot worse than Ben for an off the bench shooter role.
My cousin Betsy was a cheerleader at Stanford and is visible on about the 12 yard line running off the field. She was petrified!Stanford basketball fans — both of them — feeling like this right now:

I'm hoping that Will is watching the NBA playoffs and has come to the conclusion that he would get pummeled/abused every day in practice and in any game in which he plays. I love Will and believe he will be drafted, but I don't think his body is ready for the NBA. Wishful thinking? Probably. But what would we be without wishful thinking? Why does anyone still think Riley could come back? How has this not died yet?
A Boogie Fland type of talent???Depends who we can get …
Lot easier to go to a donor and say hey, I need some help financially and I can get for example Will Riley … He’s ready to commit … I just need your help …
Donor sees tape of said player …
Donor sees superstar …
Donor sees winning …
Donor sees potential march success …
Donor hands over…

Doesn't torvik have a hard time assessing foreign players coming to NCAA for the first time? If I recall correctly, last year KJ and tomi didn't move the needle much in our preseason projection. And if you look at the roster in depth, Torvik hasn't made a projection for Petrovic or Mirkovic yet.

So it's 7th in the country while assuming Brandon Lee, Ben Humrichous and Jake Davis get serious minutes.
In a much inferior league...but I hear you on the 3PBesides the obvious ability to stretch the floor? Dude has been an ace defensive player too.
He had nearly twice as many blocks and steals last year as Ty has in his career.
Brad Broz Tito saw the impact Clingan had in ‘23-‘24 and thought, why not dominate with two 7-footers?As of today … With the potential addition of 1 more guy …

Ty would absolutely be good being the 6th man on a high quality team. Plus, he’s a good 6th man because he can come in and play a variety of positions depending on the substitution. What a big time land for Underwood and Co. This team is taking shape.

That's my opinion, I don't think Rodgers stayed to come off the bench. Either Rodgers or Big Z will play at the 4. Playing big Z is probably the better option but the Rodgers fan in me would like to see him start.
