This is great and I really appreciate it, but what is your greatest athletic accomplishment?
Mine is from wayyy back (50+years), as an 8-9 yo (I think) playing Pee-Wee baseball, our opponent was a no-show. So the players from the previous or field adjacent game agreed to play us for fun. Their pitcher was an older kid who threw a mean fastball! My 1st at bat it scared the heck out of me as I could barely see it and it was 'singing' as it flew by me into the catcher mitt. On my 2nd at bat I closed my eyes and swung with all I had and made solid contact. It hit the top horizontal bar in left-center field.... and bounced back into the field of play. I was making the turn at third base for an inside-the-park Home Run and the coach screamed, "go back!" as the center fielders throw was on the money. I tried to stop but was already on the 3rd baseline about 6 feet towards home plate, and I was wearing tennies (couldn't afford cleats, lol) and slid to the ground trying to reverse my momentum and was tagged out.... I cannot remember if it was Grayville or Fairfield, Ill. where this happened. A great memory and always a fun story to tell! I vividly remember the older kids, and their coaches congratulating me on such a great hit. ;-)

I was also the 6th grade Checkers Champion! Does that count? Mental Gymnastics maybe.....?:ROFLMAO:

We have two more spots, right? And we are looking to add one player, possibly soon. If we add that one player and later Riley says he wants to return, is there any way on Earth we encourage him to go elsewhere because we like to keep an open slot?

I know Riley likely stays in the draft, but really...

One of my 3 offseason wishes granted!

Wish #1: Illini put together a great recruiting class. ALREADY DONE! Anything else is upside!
Wish #2: Stop the "counting" exercise when a new thread is posted. I can almost hear the voice of Dr. Rick from the Progressive commercials saying "Stop. We already know how to count". There is a time and a place for Sesame Street, and I'm not sure this is it.
Wish #3: Stop putting "IC" on the end of every Illini player name. If we get a handful of Russian Players and I start seeing Boswellov or Rodgersov on here, I might need therapy.

It's Monday. I'll choose to focus on Wish #1!
So in other words, business only no fun allowed? Read and enjoy

OTOH, I hope we get one more player and that player can hit 3s at a 40% clip, then I think we become a super team, 2005 level maybe even possibly ok hopefully
If this team makes a final four or is anything like 05 Adam Miller will have serious regrets he didn’t come home

Could Illinois test the water and try to make a big splash with Tyran Stokes who is going to reclassify to the class of 26? We had success with Will Riley who was also a reclass and Stokes would be a perfect fit at 6-7 245 with his athleticism and ability to play and defend multiple positions. OA was on him when he was at Kentucky. Louisville kid so UL will be tough to beat.

I once scored 21 points in my grade school basketball game, and fouled out. I call my grade school, Holy Angels, my alma mater as I was never accepted to any middle school I applied at.

I could see a starting lineup of:
Petrovic
Mirkovic
Stoyakovic
Boswell
Tomi Ivisic

Plenty of minutes off the bench for Z, Ben, and Davis. I think BU will mix and match with the twins. I expect he'll play both of them together at times but not as a steady diet. I still have high hopes for Jake; Rodgers not likely to get a lot of minutes; there's just too much talent and depth. Too many guys who are dangerous on offense.
