A couple of possible transfers that I suggested Illinois might possibly check into as possible transfers... SG TK Simpkins (Elon) and SG AJ Brown (Ohio)... have transferred to Oregon and Florida respectively. I wonder how much money Simpkins and Brown will be getting from their new schools. I can only assume that it might be more $$ than the U of I would've been willing to pay either player.

The only other two SGs that I've mentioned as possible "transfers" are Ali Dibba (SIU) and Damari Monsanto (UT San Antonio). Another name that I've mentioned as a possible "addition" (and I think he'd be a great fit!) is SG Luka Bogavac of Montenegro. But I wonder if our big donors would be willing to pony up extra money for a high caliber player like Bogavac.

I do understand that the Illinois staff may feel like we are set with the 12 players already on the 25-26 roster (13 including former walk-on Redd).

I know that some people think Illinois might be waiting to see who drops out of the NBA Draft, and that the Illini might possibly try to add one of those players in 3 to 4 weeks from now.

I think Illinois might also be waiting to see how the NCAA rules on a number of players and their requests for an extra year of eligibility. For example, I think that 6/11" 234-pound Forward Dawson Garcia (Minnesota) would be a great fit for the Illini. In the 24-25 season, Garcia averaged 19.2/7.5/2.0 on 47.4/37.3/78.3 shooting. I think that T Ivisic, Garcia, and Stojakovis would form an excellent starting front court for Illinois next season!

Well hopefully not the big ten. Oregon regardless will be dangerous.

Oregon being good is going to depend on Sarr and also Bittle not staying the draft. They don’t return much and current incomers are pretty meh.

Gonna be interesting to see what this league looks like, most of the B1G looks totally cooked right now with the COVID seniors gone and not much left in the portal.

We are very lucky we did a hard pivot to Europe in a lean portal year.

That’s what I’ve heard as well … Brad wants to add another piece …

All comes down to fit and money … But he’d like to add …
I have 4 years left, very cheap NIL. Not much on making it down to the defensive end, or any help defensively. BUT, I can hit open 3s at a 40% clip and still shoot in the 85% range at the line when nobody is watching...

Any indication as to the caliber of player they are seeking?

I assume they will keep one open until the remote chance of a certain Canadian kid forgoing the draft goes to zero.

Saw a clip on youtube with Brandon Lee vs AJ Dybantsa the other day. AJ is a great long athlete. One and done, good investment for BYU,, lol
Brandon seems to have a really great shot, hope by second half of season will work in rotation some next year?
