I thought he would withdraw too, but he's currently being projected early-to-mid second round. With some other players ahead of him withdrawing, it's not impossible that he sneaks into the tail end of the first round. It's also possible he got a first round guarantee from someone. Keep in mind, he's already played 4 years of college ball. The odds of him increasing his draft stock are not high at this point. So yes, while he might be leaving some money on the table, if he wants to make a real go of it at an NBA career this also may be the best shot he has at it.

Agreed. Mostly I think it just shows even more that our staff is scouting the right players

Pettiford in particular strikes me as a guy that should play 4 years in college and just make a ton of money.

I just think his size might end up limiting him to a g league/international player. He's an incredible player but it's very hard to stick in the NBA at that size. Especially for someone that really isn't a true point guard.

I see the State Dept. is putting a hold on all student visa's for the upcoming academic year. It looks like a 'blanket hold', and could easily impact visa approvals (even impact those previously approved) I am no foreign affairs expert but the Illini (and a few other schools) could see some problems getting some athletes approved.
