give me fland, and its not all that close.I mean... if we add to choose between Fland/Petrovic, would it be crazy to say Petrovic? Especially considering he's such a pure point who can set the table.

Agree!!! Hopefully this also shows that Illinois is not waiting.. if you want on the train get on but we are not waiting..on to the next guy.How refreshing to be in mid-May and have the roster in such good shape. This offseason has been expertly navigated by the coaching staff. Expecting big things to come from the 25-26 squad.

Is this bench guard expected to provide anything that Brandon Lee couldn’t? Maybe experience? Or are they looking for redundancy in that role.I think you might see a bench guard add at some point. Highly doubt it will be anything more than that.
We won't know until we see him in in action! Fland IS a proven player at this level...and I would think he would have a better year as a soph. I would guess our staff is comfortable with the back court and Boogie would (I assume) need a big pay out. Hell I dunnoI mean... if we add to choose between Fland/Petrovic, would it be crazy to say Petrovic? Especially considering he's such a pure point who can set the table.
We will be starting 3 legit scorers - Andrej 20 ppg, Tomas 13 ppg, and Kylan 12 ppg. A pass first PG is more important than another scorer for team chemistry.I mean... if we add to choose between Fland/Petrovic, would it be crazy to say Petrovic? Does he even have eligibility?![]()

He's played 5 full seasons, no injury redshirts, used up his Covid year...why would Illinois (or anyone else for that matter) care if he's in the portal? He's used up his eligibility.![]()

Not even a debate to me as far as FIT.I mean... if we add to choose between Fland/Petrovic, would it be crazy to say Petrovic? Especially considering he's such a pure point who can set the table.
Yes, that would be crazy - I mean Fland is already a proven college PG, who averaged more assists than KJ, shot better from three and had less than 2 TO per game as freshman. He's an ultra quick PG that sets up others well and can score on his own. Compared to Petrovic, I think it's fair to say he's better than Petrovic at literally everything. There is no question he would be our starting PG if he came here. Petrovic would still get heavy playing time but would be a rotational guard.I mean... if we add to choose between Fland/Petrovic, would it be crazy to say Petrovic? Isn't Fagbemi that...?I think you might see a bench guard add at some point. Highly doubt it will be anything more than that.

Has Puff received, or will he receive, another/extra year of eligibility from the NCAA? If so, he'd probably be a nice late addition to the Illini roster for next season.![]()

Looks like a very good bench guard add. 3-6 3pt shots per game at a 43.5% clip, 80% FT, 4ast/g............sure!Alec Millender - Men's Basketball - IU Indy Athletics

And now he's got famous Saint Rita grad Pope Leo XIV on his side!I always like that young man when he was at St.Rita.
This is all probably true, but the money we'd spend for Fland would be better spent elsewhere. With Petrovic already on board, an athletic SF would make sense and you could likely get a good one for what Fland would cost.Yes, that would be crazy - I mean Fland is already a proven college PG, who averaged more assists than KJ, shot better from three and had less than 2 TO per game as freshman. I'm sure we're not going to raise the kind of $$ Bland's team wants, but there is a relationship there with OA and if he doesn't find a landing spot at the dollars he wants, we would be a great fit for him. I can't see Brad turning away Fland because "we're good with Petrovic". I'm high on Petrovic too, but he's not someone who would block a proven scoring PG like Fland.
