I also think he’s chosen to stay at NW instead of taking a bigger job. He’s reaping what he’s sown, for whatever that’s worth.

Great guy, great coach who deserves better. Feel bad for him, this year was his best chance to get out of NW.
Man I really feel bad Collins. It must be awful to have a lifetime gig at Northwestern with a salary of 4-5 million.

Can you imagine having to live in a world class city like Chicago only making 4-5 million? Keep in mind that he's only 51 and he's also from the area.

Honestly, Collins has one of the best jobs in the country when you factor in where you live and raising a family, etc.

I bet he could have left if he wanted to. From a "life" perspective, he is living near where he grew up, near a great city, he has low expectations from outside and I would imagine great job security. Oh, and he makes pretty good money and dad did pretty well financially too. So, he may be content to hang out and make the tourney every few years. I don't feel bad for him at all.

Back in the day, smoke signals worked just fine.

He pretty much secured best coach in history back in 2017 by making an NCAA tournament as an 8 seed.

& how do you feel bad for anyone associated with NW athletics, I think apathy is probably the best I can achieve.

I like it when we're not always required to use a "/s" continually, thus leaving it up to posters reading a thread to pull out the meaning of a post, noice. Go Illini...

I feel bad for myself cuz I really want to see Chris taking another job and what happens after that.

I dont think he leaves Europe until after next season, he is effectively HS senior next year and his next stop will likely be former Petrovic team, Mega.
BYU has been throwing around a lot of money (as are other schools, but BYU’s been super crazy about it). I wonder if a substantial offer would sway him to come sooner rather than later. Schools have until July first to pay whatever the hell they want in NIL before it becomes scrutinized. Conceivably Luigi or anyone else could sign early and get paid in full now, with the stipulation that he’d have to repay in full if his plans change.
