On the topic of Tim Anderson, I may have missed it, but has he taken another job yet? I googled and wasn't able to find anything.
Don’t think Tim is interested in coming back to CBB at this point …

This is a little off base but I simply do not understand how Illinois does not have a 'prep school or academy' at this point. Not that colleges are directly involved in them but you would think similar donors/basketball people would be working to make a 'Meanstreets Academy' etc.Yes … There’s a lot to it but that’s the main piece …
All the in state talent is also leaving the state and once these kids go to prep school … Recruitments change …
I immediately thought to myself…..Hammer always had it locked down!!
We do it's called SC Derby...This is a little off base but I simply do not understand how Illinois does not have a 'prep school or academy' at this point. The state of Illinois is a very bad place to start a new venture of any kind and my understanding based on consuming college basketball media is Chicagoland basketball culture has a toxic reputation that players who are able should steer clear of.This is a little off base but I simply do not understand how Illinois does not have a 'prep school or academy' at this point. This is a really good point. The state of Illinois is a very bad place to start a new venture of any kind and my understanding based on consuming college basketball media is Chicagoland basketball culture has a toxic reputation that players who are able should steer clear of.
i think so. obviously doesn't seem like we're involved.wasn't this the super-athlete big guy who played with KJ? seems like he's 2027.
This episode covers it some too, (and is a good watch to understand present-day Illini recruiting). If you only wanted to watch some of it, start at the 42-minute mark and for the next few minutes Piper sort of covers how awful the Chicago basketball scene is and how many players leave. Werner doesn't seem comfortable with the topic, so Piper cuts himself off and doesn't go as hard as he could. This is a really good point.
Though I would presume all the large metro areas that have these academies likely have similar personalities and downfalls. I think to some extent we are just more aware of the issues in our own backyard.
you can imagine what happens next
