I was at MSG. Duke center Kahman Maluach 7'2" 250 lb destroyed us with is offensive rebounding, shot blocking. He blocked Tomas at the basket multiple times.

We really missed not having Dain's muscle/bulk to throw into the mix.

If we can get Kofi #2 we take him and adjust the offense.

Brad seems to be completely pivoting away from a certain look type of players. Am I the only one noticing ?

This staff offered a player with a zero star rating…

Iowa kids today probably look at Iowa State and Creighton more than Iowa for b-ball.

tough decisions for coaching staffs . 5 stars are one and done. 4 stars leave for more playing time and NIL. Until NCAA or congress puts something in place for multiple year player contracts we will continue to see crazy player movement. Players were screwed for so long so I can live with status quo.

That's fine to live with the status quo, but then don't be one of those who get pissed at Morez when he breaks a deal, gets ticked at the staff for roster overhaul year over year or upset that the team is struggling early because they're figuring things out.

Have to accept all of that as the status quo too.

I would love to take a 4 🌟 from Iowa, a little payback for the ones from Illinois that have gotten over the years.
You are absolutely right. I think that flow of stars began with Fred Riddle (Collinsvile) about 1961 or 62. He was Bogie Redmond's h.s. teammate.

Just curious… what are the Antigua big recruiting wins the past couple years?

Fred Riddle was certainly one of the first in 1961, but the following year was maybe the biggest ever as Cazzie Russell split for Michigan and opened the floodgates.

He was absolutely excellent. That was a wonderful team.

How many times did Duke iso him in postups offensively?

Cause when you say you want kofi and you adjust, that’s what you mean.

Kofi was a drop defense only defender who blocked shots and intimidated out of pure size, but couldn’t guard guys who could play outside.

Maluach could switch for a possession if he has to. That’s why he was a lottery pick.

Actually, on second thought, it goes back earlier. When Rockford West (I don't think it was East) won the state title about 1954, they had to 6-7 big guns--John Wessels and Noland Gentry. Gentry went to Iowa, Wessels to Illinois.

Dolph Stanley poached Johnny Orr from us in 1945.
