BU does seem to be sort of a Ninja for most recruits...and I love it...I'm sure it wasn't, but that seemed to come from out of nowhere. Love stealing right from mizzery backyard
Is this supposed to be an exciting commit? Haven’t seen him and only looking at rankings but seems like a settle this early.
Did we really steal him if Mizzou never offered him?I'm sure it wasn't, but that seemed to come from out of nowhere. Love stealing right from mizzery backyard
Not knowing him enough to say he is good or not. But he ranks ~90 on 247, which makes him like Keaton or Lee types of recruits. If my memory serves me right, we tend to get commits from low 4 stars before high 5 stars. With the roster expansion, timing is not an issue at all. I am sure staff sees potential in him. But frankly, we need a few low NIL prep players to fill out the roster. Is this supposed to be an exciting commit? Haven’t seen him and only looking at rankings but seems like a settle this early.
I didn't say we stole from mizzery but their backyardDid we really steal him if Mizzou never offered him?
Sure hope Brown can deliver…..What can Brown do for you
Ah gotcha, so like when Bradley stole Dietrich Richardson right from our backyard.I didn't say we stole from mizzery but their backyard
Thanks for the response and insight. Personal dynamics (Brad's relationship with his staff/players) and organizational dynamics (team) can be fascinating.Valid question … I think the easiest answer lies in the fact that Brad hired 2 coaches to essentially take over all of Hamer’s responsibilities from previous years, and gave Hamer a different role …
I think Brad wanted to be loyal to his guys and give Hamer a shot and it didn’t go well … Needed to re evaluate, and Brad did in the off season just like he said he would and what I reported here …
As far as why Hamer isn’t gone completely … That’d be a great question for Brad but it goes back to loyalty I think … Tyler gets along with him … So I guess that’s something …
But the players think he’s a little weird and out there (leggings) … His ability as a coach is the worst on our current staff and I understand it’s a good staff but still …
Brad demoted him and now other coaches who have more experience and proven results will take over and Hamer’s new role doesn’t have him focused on hardly any in game stuff … More so advanced scouting and video, planning the offseason stuff and helping out with recruiting and the portal … Which is fine …
But my goodness, stop sending him to freaking Chicago and having him reach out and talk to those kids … Might as well not even recruit Chicago if we’re going to send him up there …
Hopefully that answered your question …
Did we really steal him if Mizzou never offered him?
Like how you packaged that!Sure hope Brown can deliver…..
Or a great evaluation and lock up before he blows up?
Did I say he wouldn't be? I honestly have no prediction on that one way or the other.View attachment 43010
I'm betting on him being a valuable player for us ...mark it...
I think they’ve figured out that you’ll never get more than 3-4 guys to come in as big money guys because they all want the ball and money is limited. You need a few of these lower 4* guys to fill the gaps and be your bench guys while playing for a bit less. It's okay to temper expectations for a borderline 3/4-star that only Iowa was in on. Just hope the staff knows what they're doing and this isn't a further hint that our money situation has fallen behind our peers when you compare freshman classes.
Probably posted before, but let's get updated on new Illini recruit Ethan Brown who is number 33 and/or 34:
