Fielding Yost was an obnoxious and self important fella. My reading of history was it was his own vendetta against the Conference that led them to quit.

He was literally the original ‘Michigan Man.’

I’ll dig up some citations if they’re required.
He definitely had his own motivations. He was winning football as it was built at the time but the big one was one of the proposed rules would have required him to be faculty rather than just a coach (and paid as such). Based on my reading the president of Michigan also opposed the strength sports were gaining, but the Michiganders liked winning football more.than his opinion on the matter and the board overruled him.

IMO, Michigan wasn't wrong. UChicago wanted to effectively kill college football and Michigan's return to the conference signaled UChicago had failed and would ultimately leave the conference when they decided if they couldn't kill college football for everyone, they could at least kill it for themselves.
Regardless of the truth of such statements, we simply do not allow that kind of language on this site. Thanks.

So Sencire transferred to Cincinnati, and Amani transferred to Virginia Tech following Chester there, who spent some time there under a previous coach. I wonder why Sencire didn’t go to VT also. Interesting. Just can’t keep up with all these transfers, etc. I assume it was mostly because DeVries went to Indiana that all three transferred. Chester was not going there, as I remember was mentioned by one of the insiders a while back. I wonder if DeVries tried to persuade Sencire and Amani to follow or if they just didn’t think it would be a good fit. Or, perhaps, even though they only spent one year with Illinois, based on their experience here and in the Big Ten, they were NOT going to Indiana
Buck basically transferred home

Request: Links to pay only articles are indicated as pay only.

Yes, this link technically goes to a free X image. There is no content there other than a link to a pay article.
I feel like On3 shouldn't charge if the recruit is 3+ years away. It would be a good way to get people hooked to reading about them, and then they'd feel obligated to pay as the recruit gets closer to picking a school and actually enrolling.

Brad is good at recruiting. He simply needs to upgrade his x's and o's via better ACs. We will see how it turns out this season.

would better ACs have helped KJ cut down his turnovers? Morez's penchant for fouling? I could go on, but I'll spare you

just to be clear, I'm all for great XO ACs. but it seems like a chunk of the fanbase thinks that's gonna solve all problems, known and unknown (lol)
