There is no benefit if you’re a player of Morillo caliber to signing early …

If he signs early, great … If he doesn’t, great …

Guys like Morillo would be better off to wait to sign until they can see what roster is going to look like … What their role might be … The role they hear about in the fall could look a lot different come spring …

Also - signing means nothing anymore … All these kids get let out of NLIs all the time anyways … It’s just a piece of paper … Gotta get em on campus and enrolled …

O told me he isn’t concerned and if he ain’t concerned … No one should be …

This program is in a place where if he comes … Great … If he doesn’t, we will go get someone just as good or better …

And man is that a fun place to freaking be …

those early 21st century Illini MB teams 2020 going forward were awesome winning 10 straight NCAA basketball championships in a row and a total of 50 Natty's for all the 21st century solidifies their status as the greatest of all time college program prior to the AI period of integrated robotic-humanoid players taking over.......

that coach ( BU ) was ahead of the times with his Euro dominated roster's and 4D chess schemes......he retired as the winningest coach of all time , replacing some coach with a random alphabet generated name........he really really did..............

glad to see him signed and on board .........nice to have all 3 recruits in the fold and allowing the staff to turn their recruiting efforts to fill out with positional needs for 2027 and beyond .....I doubt we see any commits soon for the future years but we can make strides in getting to know who we want to maximize on...........

I'm beyond enthused about Morillo. I can picture him and Wagler on the floor together from time to time. Wow. Talk about length at guard!
I'm thinking the exact same thing!

If Wagler can start on this year's team, then there's a strong chance that Morillo can do that as well. The height and length those 2 can bring alongside Stojakovic is a borderline NBA-type of backcourt.

Makes me drool.

Plenty of Morillo video on YouTube. Watching Dom. vs Australia from this summer's u19 world cup. Morillo looks best as a scoring lead guard- not as good off the ball at this point imo.

Yeah. I'm with you on most of this, but I'm convinced Petrovic should be our pg for three years. That doesn't rule out what you're saying about Wagler and Morillo.

Wagler, Morillo, Lee and Petrovic will be a fun group of guards for next year (hope everyone stays/arrives).

We have great size and good shooting. I really liked what I saw of Petrovic. No injury and it would have been battle Royale between Wagler and Petrovic for 2nd guard slot.

I do think getting Wagler and Boswell mpg game down will help. Get them down to 25 mpg to keep them fresh and give the 20 minutes to Petrovic.
---- Wagler played 36 minutes vs Bama and 35 minutes vs Texas Tech.
----Boswell played 33 minutes vs Bama (foul trouble) and 38 minutes vs Texas Tech.

Our 2026 freshman class is same - Brown 6'4" CG, Davis 6'9" PF, Murillo 6'7" 2G/SF
We are vulnerable to quick athletic guards (Alabama) and our running game is better than last year but still average.

Petrovic likes to run and is reasonably quick.

No doubt we will lose some players to portal. Hopefully we can bring in some athleticism to balance with our great size. Defense and fast breaks are important.
