We’re are not doing body composition comparison all I was saying is based on the move to the basketball…I know he’s a power forward.

Illini recruit Landon Davis will be on livestream tonight. Waukee Northwest plays Ankeny. Tip will be somewhere around 7:30. The varsity girls game is at 6.

I wanted to go to this game since it’s 6 miles from my house, but it’s been a hectic week. I’m hoping to see him play live next week.

Not overly impressed with Davis. Maybe scored 10 points. Point forward? Good size. Average athleticism, good passer, very unselfish, didn't take many shots but good form, not aggressive finding his shot. Really, really deferred to his teammates.Just one game, maybe an off night. Team won by about 20.

I’m sure the game Tuesday will be a better barometer. Opposition last night was not good.

Yep...didn't want to be too negative watching just one game. Kid didn't force anything...could have scored more but always hit an open man. One of his teammates had at least 26 so they didn't need him to chuck it.

The Underwoods love dudes who pass the ball. That’s why they went after Wagler.
Obviously, I don’t expect Davis to be HIM, but he has good size, a decent stroke, and plays the game the right way.
I don’t think they expect him to be much more than a great practice player, right off the bat. Not everyone has to be a star. You gotta have guys who star in their role.

He's putting together a really nice year. Curious if that's someone we've kept tabs on or if that is totally off the table. 42 at Baylor and 23 at SMU isn't a joke.

I wanted to put this long parroted narrative to the test. Let's see what the actual difference is:

Seems like the difference is negligible at best. Also, consider that half of these guys jumped up a level.
Boswell is the one that jumps out. Pretty large sample size of being a near 40% shooter and then drops off a cliff here. Though I do vaguely remember that he started his sophomore out very hot at Arizona and then got kind of streaky as the year went on.

Last year I thought he settled for too many deep 3s and step backs but this year I think his shot selection has improved just hasn't been knocking down open looks at a great clip.

Domask actually shot at a pretty good clip for most of the year he just put himself in a hole being awful from 3 in Nov and Dec.

You would expect guys to improve though as they get older and more reps. I would be curious to look at what guys do after leaving. For example, DGL is shooting 35% on nearly 6 attempts per game which is a pretty big improvement.

Kitt's expanded his game nicely (and he's only a junior). AAU ball with Mean Streets took his confidence to a new level. really liking his trajectory. would not be surprised to see him playing a lot of 2 for us

Looks not overly quick but solid athlete, good footwork, plays physical, and at his own pace. Guys like that tend to have good transitions to the next level.

Has reducing the window made the number of transfers smaller? I have doubts.

Coaches were complaining that the window was open while players were still playing in the tournament. They had two big complaints:
- A player on a still active tournament team may be in the transfer window, or already committed elsewhere. (See transferring NCAAF players opting out of bowls for safety.)
- Coaches in the tournament (the big names) felt they were at a disadvantage - they couldn't coach the tournament and recruit the portal.

I do not expect this change to alter the number of portal entries. I do expect a reduction in portal entries though. A significant percentage of transfers at the lower end of each "level" ended up significantly worse off. They either need to transfer down, or if they are already at a lower level, they end up without a landing spot. Unless you are sure of a landing spot, take the scholarship you have, and deal with it.

We're going to need (at least one) very big fish after Keaton and Kylan depart.

Kinda like Kylan two years ago from Arizona.

Going to see him play tomorrow night against Pekin. Pekin is 1-11 or something like that, so I hope East Peoria doesn't sit him too much - want to see him play!

The Kitts young man looks good. He looks bigger than Keaton. Our his growth plates still open? Good pickup for the Illini.
