How many are they recruiting for '27? Mentioned Jordan Wordlaw from Dunbar recently but IMO they should make a move.

If we’re gonna run this type of offense … We need some elite level snipers …

That’s what this kid can bring at minimum …

Uhhhhh

It’s going to be okay. Ultimately, they are all Brad’s decision. If he wants the kid, the odds are very good he will become a legit B1G player.
A lot of similar sentiments were shared about a certain freshman guard last year. If you’ve watched 15 minutes of any game in the last month, you know Minnesota was the only other high major team that offered Keaton… Northwestern, Norte Dame, and Creighton didn’t even want him.
Wagler is an outlier among outliers, but the instance of BU taking a kid who can’t play in the last 7 years is… well... you tell me?

It’s not like SLU, Creighton, Minnesota, Nw are some pushover programs either lol.

uhhhhh is right. don't let your distaste for Hamer cloud a recruiting win. sure, this was pretty much a "can of corn" recruitment. so what? if Brad wants him, that's more than good enough for me. piling up on snipers is a good thing, especially lengthy ones (Brown, Martin (and Lee can stroke it too)). that Martin plays with (and is ostensibly good buddies with Cole) is an added benefit

If nothing else this kid can fill a Jake Davis role, always room in the rotation for a dude with decent size who plays hard and is a sniper from 3.

I mean...we see what they are doing;

- Get early commits from prospects who are willing to buy into a developmental plan
- Money wise, save up for bigger fish in the portal or overseas
- Skill and shooting, not necessarily athleticism over everything
- Close to home for the most part

Illinois is a transfer portal and overseas program. Im sure we'll take high ranked prospects but with the over the top money, the backstabbing, the fact that commitments and even signings mean absolutely nothing...im game for the plan.

High ranked prep recruits (not all of them) usually cost a fortune, and then transfer.

Roster construction is becoming more and more like the NBA too. Spend your money on the high usage stars and surround them with guys willing to be a role player. Brads philosophy seems to be the role players are the system guys you keep and develop over multiple years and the stars are the ones you bring in from the portal.

I think the distaste for Hamer is warranted based on the lack of coaching ability and having him handle the more important recruiting efforts, specifically in the Chicago area … That can’t happen …

These types of recruitments ? These are layups for our program … Exactly the kind of task Hamer can complete and allow our other coaches and Brad to focus on this years team … Hamer got it done … Props to him …

And I’ll say this as well … He has been busting his 🍑 in the Kelly recruitment … That family tells me Hamer has been at like every game and is communicating more than any other coach in the country … Credit where it’s due …
