It would be particularly of interest if Brown is working on is step back jumper and is now converting over 45% and looking to become even better against B1G caliber guards. If that is the case, the comp is legit. However, I now live in Missouri so ya gotta show me. But yes, it appears like both Brown and Morillo may be diamonds in the rough. Time will tell...but patience is not something to find on this board.Wagler is a unicorn. comps to him are pretty unfair to preps. that said, ample reason to be high on Brown. I think he's destined to be an impact player, the only question is when
Very impressive game (and season) by Ethan Brown of Rolla (MO) HS. He's Rolla's primary ballhandler. He's a surprisingly good, unselfish passer. He's a right-handed shooter, but he drives to the hoop very well with his left hand. He finishes well through contact; and he will be an even better finisher once he gains weight and strength working with Fletch. He makes outlet passes like Kevin Love (or Wes Unseld) after offensive rebounds. He has really nice form (and results!) on his 3-pointers. He keeps his head up on the dribble, always looking ahead for the long pass. It seems like he can beat his defenders off the dribble, going either right or left. I'm thinking/hoping that he will end up being a very good player for the Illini. It seems like Ethan Brown and the Illini offense are made for each other.what can Brown do for us?

Really hope we don’t have a ton of Keaton comps thrown his way. Yes, I get he’s good, but that’d be unfair (to pretty much anybody).what can Brown do for us?
Very unlikely that a starting lineup of with 3 bigs is happening...especially with Andrej as our 2.Jaylon Cox via portal would be an awesome gain for next year's squad. Have him as PG and Andrej as our SG. Tomi, Mirk and Big Z to round out the line up. Davis, Lee, Ty and and anther stretch 4 via portal.
The big thing with these kids who are talented but might not jump off the film as being Uber athletic is how will they adjust. Just this past week, I saw a tape of Wagler highlights on Twitter from I believe his junior year. If you had changed uniforms to Illinois and Purdue, the plays would have fit right in on his Purdue highlight tape. Really isn’t doing all that much different today than he was back then. But since he didn’t look amazingly quick or jump out of gym, I guess evaluators had questions on whether he could do it at the high major level. Guess he answered those questions. But to expect others cut from a similar type cloth to do it in their first year like Keaton has is putting unfair expectations on them.Really hope we don’t have a ton of Keaton comps thrown his way. I honestly never saw a player like Wagler before in college basketball. I can't even think of a good comp in NBA. The closest I have gotten is Klay Thompson.Wagler is a unicorn. comps to him are pretty unfair to preps. that said, ample reason to be high on Brown. I like Brad's prep recruiting. Please keep finding shooters who can dribble and pass. Athletism matters but is secondary.Very impressive game (and season) by Ethan Brown of Rolla (MO) HS. Very curious who was responsible for finding Jake?Bingo …
I don't think Klay is a very good comp since he's famous for scoring without dribbling. I propose Tyrese Haliburton as the better option. He definitely plays faster than Keaton does now, but check out his college highlights:I honestly never saw a player like Wagler before in college basketball. I can't even think of a good comp in NBA. Very smooth, needs the Fletch touch though. But this kid can flat out ballwhat can Brown do for us?

Always dribbling with his head up. Young man has gamewhat can Brown do for us?
Living 45 minutes from Columbia and can attest to the fact that a lot of Mizzery fans are upset they didn't recruit him. Like Kansas with regards to Wagler, right in their back yard.True. My comparison is that Brown is a bit under the radar like Wagler. Heck, Mizzou, like KU, missed a kid literally in their backyards.
On the last Illini Inquirer podcast Isaac Trotter said according to kenpom his top similarity scores (comparing stats, not style of play) are Jalen Brunson, Ty Jerome, Melo Trimble and Collin GillespieI’m so torn on the haliburton comp… I heard the last broadcast they said Prohm compared the two. And that’s been the comp on a few mocks.
