I feel like that's the BU formula:
1. Positional size
2. Rebounding
3. Court vision/decision making
4a. Perimeter shooting
4b. Scoring in the paint.
Not even a prospect unless you have at least 2 of 1-3 plus at least one of 4a/4b.
The ideal scenario is obviously having all 5, which gets you a Wagler or Mirk.
Yeah, I kinda lumped it in with the court vision/decision making because I kinda feel like at this level, if you can see the court and make the right decision in the split second, you obviously must have the physical skill to throw the ball into the right place. I don't really think there are many D1 prospects who are physically incapable of putting the ball where they want it to go.Add passing in there somewhere too. It’s court vision adjacent but definitely its own skill.
lets hope its the prep equivalent of a KS state title....
It is painfully obvious that AS has to improve his % from the arc. He could likely score a few NBA buckets with his ability to finish at the rim, but to play minutes in the NBA, he needs to spread the floor as a 3 pt. threat and guard players of similar size, the latter which he seems to be able to do in spurts. If memory serves correctly, Andres said part of the reason he decided on our Illini is he wanted to be pushed and coached hard. Obviously, the money played a large impact, but if he aspires to make the NBA he should use the current situation as motivation as opposed to a poor me scenario.
If he gets after it like TSJ did, I could see a monster year.It is painfully obvious that AS has to improve his % from the arc. He has a uniques skill package but not elite to the point of being a surefire/can't miss NBA player. A lot of work to be done and Brad has and will give him every opportunity to grow and display his talent.
IMHO, he simply needs to keep chopping wood as an EDG and elevate his defense, arc %, passing skills, and strength. He can... and I hope will... do these things at Illinois where he will get all the coaching and playing time he needs...and make the senior jump as he reaches both mental and physical maturity.
My feeling is he will be in C-U next year. Another off-season with Fletch should also limit or eliminate his health issues but no one can forsee what lies down that road.
so you're saying Keaton is coming back?!He also doesn’t have to be the “leader” of the team here as a brand new guy … We have guys who will be returning that will play that role …
Not sure if they were matched up but totally outplayed Deron Rippey Jr (#10 in class of 26, Duke bound)
This guy seems like he’s built in the lab for Underwood’s preferred style…
Bonus points when these big guards and wings can pass. Reminds me of Domask a bit
Reminds me a little bit of Anthony Black …
It won’t matter if Underwood is still the coach. He can run off the entire roster, but we’ll see the same !!!! again next year.Twin towers better be lowering their 2026/27 asking prices for the novice crap they have been putting out.

Honestly I don't care to see Tomi play here again. Z yes but Tomi is a sloth anymore, out of shape, can't rebound, block a 6ft guards shot or make a basket.Twin towers better be lowering their 2026/27 asking prices for the novice crap they have been putting out.
We need it.On the bright side, I do think some good news is close on this front.

I can’t wait for next year’s top-five Big Ten team that loses in the NCAA second round! Surely new talent will figure this out!On the bright side, I do think some good news is close on this front.
