We need to get bigger and more athletic on the front line. Mirk needs to make a big jump. Against lesser teams he is great but struggles against the top teams. Gotta get a lead guard that has some dog in him and old like a junior or senior. (Blackwell)
Our front line is set if everyone returns, but I’m not stoked about that.

Ty averaged close to 8 points a game while shooting 53% from the field while starting 35 games for an elite 8 team.To say he has no offensive game is not true
Yeah, that was a bit of a strange comment. He got the hard working points two years ago, but he has had two injured seasons, where I am sure he worked on his shot.

I would expect his shot to be much improved. How good? That is impossible for those of us on the outside to say, but I would anticipate better than two years ago.

I thought he sat out last year voluntarily…

All you have to do is compare Ben from last year to this year, squint your eyes, and you will see how Fletch is going to help Mirk change his body and come back with increased foot speed, greater vertical and better lateral movement. He will be a monster.

Gonna wait until tomorrow, but will have some introduction offseason stuff. Will have a lot of stuff for everyone next week, things are really going to pick up on Tuesday when the portal opens. Retention/adding 2-3 key pieces will be the focus.

Can someone make the case for keeping Tomi and Z? They don’t hit 3s at a high enough rate to make it worth keeping them. Nor do they defend the post that well. I like Big Z’s shot blocking ability, but they both get bullied on the low block.

I could see Ty taking Bens place… could score 6-7 ppg slashing and put backs. Rebounding at a plus and D a little better. Different players. Ben was a very good roll player this year… Ty could be that too… plus he is more plug and play in other spots if needed.

We really reloaded last season well (even after many complained we were missing out on top options), so I am excited to see what the staff is able to do this offseason after a Final Four appearance.

Brad and Co have proven adept to the new environment, so I am confident we can build out another strong roster to compete for another deep run.

As always, appreciate what you and other insiders offer to the table during the long period where no games are being played.

Gonna make us wait until tomorrow?

Give me 2 portal guards that can defend and shoot the 3, a Balkan backup 4 for Mirk, and return the twins, Mirk, Stojakovic, and Davis; and I promise I won’t troll-post about RayJ Dennis and Bryce Hopkins all off-season.

I think if we are going to keep up the strategy of easy 2's and open 3's we need to make some changes/upgrades.

We need to get either solid improvement in both or top 15-30 in 1 of those areas.

UM-4th, Zona 9th in FG%. Illinois 102nd.

UM-31st and Zona 37th in 3pt%. Illinois 134th.

We were 12th in 3's attempted (4th last year). Need to get that % way up to make it viable. Need at least 1 elite shooter on floor at all times paired with at least 3 threats. The 3 pt % needs to jump closer to 37-38% if we are going to keep attempts up or need to lower attempts.

I don't think they are going to give up on the 3's, so hopefully we can get at least 1 elite shooter coming in but would like 2 shooters or 1 elite shooter and 1 elite playmaker.

Always want shooting in today’s game, sure.

But if you look at the box score tonight, I think the numbers say even with our poor 3 point shooting, we should have shot more…

Same % from floor as UCONN overall, but they took more 3s

Jake is an elite shooter but the offense sits him in the corner. Run some screens/action to get him open looks.
