Even if we land Coleman, we’ll need a point guard capable of averaging something like 11 points, 4 assists. Unsure of whether Cox is that guy - maybe he is, maybe he isn’t.

In general, mid major guards are usually hit or miss at the next level.
Maybe we should pay a courtesy phone call to Cayden Boozer. See if he'd like to clean the Dook stench off himself from that disastrous E8 game and start fresh in the O&B perhaps?

Halfway kidding with this of course...but didn't we (sort of) recruit him and his brother at one point?

🤔😉

He has the Missouri visit lined up (after Illinois).

I can't believe the freshman class they have... Gates has been pretty blah there so far imo (he inherited a pretty good team his first year)

Bryant and Crowe both looked impressive in the McD game last night, so hopefully next season is a full-on Rutgers/Bailey/Harper experience

I dunno, I kinda see him as a poor man's Brad. He can always be relied upon to keep getting good players and tends to put those good players in a position to succeed.

They'll be a factor next year, that will be a big game.

as good as Coleman is, I don't see us waiting on him. if he doesn't commit pretty soon (a week?), I reckon we're moving on

I'll add, that I doubt he's gonna find an overall better situation. we'll see
Brad, Orlando, and Geoff will not wait around. Nor should they. Wait too long and you run the risk of missing out on other great fits.

Hopefully Quincy won’t see any reason to visit anywhere else.

My favorite so far:

Lousy coach but fantastic recruiter. Seen this so many times over the decades.

Obviously, money is a huge factor - does Missouri really have that much?

Smiley can shoot the three too. Had a real nice game against Oregon St in WCC tourney as well as SF’s second game against Beavers in regular season once his role had become more consistent. I think between those two games he was like 10 of 15 from three.

My review from when he was playing on the Canadian team (pre Florida):

Rioux at 7'6" was able to play over everyone, including Jacobson. Unfortunately for Canada, he has no game. Slow. Gawky. No shot. No positioning. Worse yet, he showed frustration easily and acted like a bully. He committed several blatant pushing fouls in frustration (and was whistled for them).
Yeah, not great. Watched his "highlights" from the Tourney game against Prarie View, and he looked like he had no idea what he was supposed to be doing on defense. On offense just camped around by the basket and waited for the ball, missed a bunch of layups, finally got an offensive rebound in perfect position to dunk it, which he did. He looked OK in that specific situation. But if he doesn't receive the ball close enough to reach up and slam it in (which I think he can do without even jumping) he is incapable of getting closer and he is really bad at getting the ball in the hoop unless it's a dunk.

Good question for Indy
Figured they had money, just assumed it was for football. Gotta be expensive trying to keep up in the SEC and keep Drink

I personally have a hard time wanting to spend tons of money on a freshman who might not be here as a sophomore...

...but KEATON WAGLER

I'll say this year's freshman class with Wagler, Flemings, Acuff, Boozer, Dybansta, etcetera has me not 100% confident in this mindset, though

Bidding war between Illinois and Texas Tech for Quentin Coleman. Back and forth they go.
Seems like an easy answer to me.. one is only 2 hours up the road so your family can watch you play. The other is we beat them too.
