Indy Illini Fan i think the UNC thing makes sense especially for Mirk. Plays a lot like the Joker and Mike built him. So would make sense if Mirk went there.

Well, he never said it didn't apply to Houston or Florida. ;)

That said, it's an absurd take. A conference tournament title and an Elite 8 is never a bad season for Purdue. That was their 5th Elite 8 or better in 45 years and they hadn't been to a Final Four since 1980 until Zach Edey came along.

Also, Purdue basically played pretty close to actual expectations. Arizona and Michigan played way above expectations. Purdue can't help that.

It wasn't a bad season but disappointing season considering they were preseason number 1 and didn't get to the FF, is that fair? Me personally I would be disappointed with that result.

The numbers being thrown around are wild to me. Back in 2010, max contract players in the NBA were signing 5 year $80M deals and the minimum salary deals for udrafted rookies (so basically the only salary that they would be offered) was $398k. And that’s for a season that is over twice as many games as college.

That could be taken any number of ways. Does he want to send a client or two? Future recruits? Just gauging Malone’s interest?

Great they can have Petrovic and Bilic.

I mean, tbh, if he were to push those three guys away from us, that sucks but whatever. We’ve had worse freeze outs and couldn’t pay people then. They aren’t the only Euros or players.

For potential recruits and Portal transfers out there who just watched how Coach and Wagler and the others were so deeply affected by the Final Four loss... and how all the Illini reflected upon the entire Season just completed... you would have to be moved by watching all this and thinking that the Illini would be one fine place to play ball and find some special coaching and team mates.

And the enthusiasm of Illini Nation fans is infectious as well.

That’s how things roll in a Basketball State.
