Ty Rodgers is not a viable power 4 at 6'6" 210. All this talk about him being something he isnt needs to stop. Maryland and most others with big 4s like Michigan, Purdue, MSU. or Maryland's Pherrell Payne at 6'9" 250 would destroy him. We need a real power 4 or that crap wont stop with Mirk on the bench. If we dont add someone our best option after Mirk or Z isnt Ty.
I really think people are stressing about a role that is going to provide 5-8 min of backup time to Mirk. I’d be surprised if Mirk averages less than 32 min, unless we happen to bring in somebody that is actually good enough to warrant giving him more extended rest. The issue with failing to add somebody is less about a trusted reserve role, imo, as it is about injury insurance.

Confession time: I know we tried to have Ty guard true bigs back when he was playing. I do not remember how it went.

Think you’re going to see Mirk play A LOT … He won’t be out unless foul trouble …

And Brad plans to have a full summer to work on playing the twins together …

Sorry, I've seen too much good basketball to say a quick, bouncy athlete can't play defense or rebound against mauler 4's. Listed 6'7" Dennis Rodman comes to mind as the ultimate example among many. The luxury of having Mirk and Z is...you still have those guys as primary options.
This is the insanity im talking about. Ty isnt going to suddenly be a shooter nor is he a capable defender vs big guys. If you think he can stop guys like Payne or others when he never has is crazy. Brad put in Coleman and others before Ty for a reason! Been there and tried that. Now he is going to suddenly become a freak defender like Rodman! Its just laughable how much Kool Aid some drink when it comes to Ty.

Yeah, any insight on how comfortable we should be feeling on Blackwell at the moment? I was feeling great earlier, but apparently unlimited pockets of Louisville and that UCLA post doesn’t do my anxiety wonders lol

Either Louisville is spending less on Bidunga and Shelstad than rumored . . . or they have a budget way over $20mm.

They need to build their roster almost entirely through the portal, as they have only one returning scholarship player, and zero HS recruits. They are rumored to have committed over $10mm just for their first three players, and are now courting two more guys in Blackwell and Murauskas who have asking prices of . . . let's just say top dollar.

"Moneyball" has an entirely different meaning there.

If we have the roster I think we’re gonna have …

Not many teams are going to be able to hang with us … No matter how many points we give up …
I think thats the plan and i like it.
Still, I still worry about injury and fouls vs other top teams. If either happens to those 3 guys it will sting. We have a lot of 2s n 3s but it may be cool to have another big like Georgi or some othee Vic! Lol

Tomi has missed multiple games each of the last 2 years. I hope he doesnt again.
