It blows my mind to see 6'10" guys playing 31 minutes who average two and a half rebounds a game. Obviously that would change at Illinois. Regardless, it's still baffling to me.
I thought it was an error … That wouldn’t cut it here …

That's also why I don't worry about Vaak's rebouding numbers. Our system he will have opportunities, whereas in Providence's system ge was probably told to get back.I thought it was an error … That wouldn’t cut it here …
If I remember correctly, there are a couple of Illinois-friendly players in LA right now.Can Brad go on the UCLA visit with him?
“Hey Mick, how’s it going? Just thought I’d tag along”![]()
Probably why he might be willing to settle for a backup role at Illinois... We aren't getting a double-double machine to play the 8-9 mpg where Mirk is resting. He can shoot it, so he won't bog down the offense.
Our coaches believe they can teach defense and rebounding... Shooting comes more slowly, and this guy can already do it.
Obviously that would change at Illinois.
This rocked last year and rocks this year. Thank you for this! And thanks again insiders for providing these nuggets of gold when ya can!Nice big update to the Tracker Sheet after a weekend away. Welcome Stefan!
Crystal Ball sitting at a cool 7/9 so far - a few updates into that this morning as well.
May have missed a name or two on the commitments, but think I have all the board name drops listed here so far.

Let’s not talk about depth again. Last two years we’ve said that before the season and then played six or seven men when we had injuries.Feels like we’d have a high level contributing rotation player at nearly every position. Mirk being the biggest “gap,” but with our positional size and some fluidity we can cover that for times to give Mirk rest. The depth we could be looking at is crazy, and our returning players (should they stay) will have tons of experience in practice even against some of the best in the conference and league; just think how far they could develop by the next year.
Still pretty early in the transfer cycle and I have no inside knowledge but I think if they retain Morez and the rest of the guys with eligibility outside of Mara and adding Estrella, that probably equates to a good chunk of change as it is.Unlimited ATM access running out up in Michigan a bit?
Always.
Cruz Davis is a dawg. For the price point I’d take him over Blackwell. 40% from 3 and 5 assists.
Yes, unpopular opinion but i think at this point “fit” is everything.
The fact I don’t see us connected to a single big man, I’d guess, is very telling.
Wednesday is a key day. Illinois would like to have a lot of roster stuff wrapped up by then.

Interesting it's the same day as the coaches vs cancer eventWednesday is a key day. Illinois would like to have a lot of roster stuff wrapped up by then.
There's a mile of difference between being the 9th guy on what this IL roster is shaping up to be and most other teams. But we’re also not the only ones that realize basketball rosters have 12-15 players. It’s not like they can just go leave and find a team that will promise to only give out 8 scholarships.
Is this Misko, and Misko’s Dozic’s agent?
He’s asking for more money than Blackwell right now …
Sounds like he’s focused on schools in his home state as well …

Sorry. I've already claimed that hashtag to describe my gastrointestinal anxiety as I wait.#TheRetention …
Could see us playing faster with Dre, Coleman, Blackwell, Ty, and Z. Very athletic but just don’t see that lineup as more than an experiment. Be interesting to see what Tyler comes up with but betting it’s going to look different. This is very true and distinguishes Blackwell among other scorer-type portal options, among them AJ Storr.
But it's also another way of saying that he's an off-ball player and not an offense initiator.
Vaaks helps there to a degree. But I think people are underestimating how different an offense that replaces Wagler and Boswell with Vaaks/Coleman/Blackwell would be. We're going to have to play faster, ball movement in the half court just isn't going to be the same.
