Teams with two big, physical, athletic bigs are going you to be the teams that will give us fits. We just don't have that anywhere on the roster. We create mismatches of our own(obviously), but when we play teams that can pound the ball and crash the offensive glass....it's a problem. That's why it's critical to have big guards to be able to send to the rim. We really can't afford to have a 6'1" player on the floor.

Was it Eddie Johnson who said that we need to add speed and athleticism to the roster last week? He wasn't wrong. It's why Drej is so critical, as is whatever transfer they bring in. Don't stop with the 6'4", 6'5", 6'6", etc.

Haha yes I remember you mentioning this. You’re not wrong. HOWEVER…

True, this was Woodson, but remember two years ago IU had (I think) the #1 class (including our beloved Luke Goode?). Well, Kasparas and crew went into Bloomington that year and B-to-A’ed. Hung an “assembly hall” record for points by a visiting team iirc.

So this year, and to begrudgingly quote Yaxel, “we finna whoop they @$$ 😤”. That goes for Mizz-who too. 💪🏾

Well, it’s far from a guarantee McNeil WOULD wind up here. We don’t have the family dynamic we do with Blackwell (that goes for every guy we’d target as his replacement).

Better to just not mess around and lock it down. We’re in the final stages of that recruitment. And yes, he’s really good.

Nothing is ever a guarantee, except colonoscopies on this board. My point was that IF Blackwell were to go elsewhere there will be other excellent options available, and McNeil is a guy I really, really like.

Hopefully all of the above I posted about alternative options will be null and void in the not too distant future. :)

(That’s gonna take a lot of resources…and probably unconstitutional. We’d better have a helluva an exit strategy. Not sure how that would play out.)
