oh? Why...his body language? The video of Tomi shows the crowd chanting Andrej's name and Tomi is hyping the crowd up. Kinda assumed this meant he was back just probably waiting on his own day to announce.
The crowd was chanting his name but just didn’t get the feeling he was returning from watching him. I was sitting up front, my friends thought the same. Who knows, hope I’m wrong, just an observation .

Just returned from the CAC fund raiser, nearly $700,000 raised!! My gut feeling for what it’s worth is that AS will not be returning.
If we get Blackwell I can't see him returning. Im not convinced he'll get the minutes to showcase his skills. It's also not clear this offense suits him as well as others might.

He's getting the highest level advice a guy can get. Hopefully they see advantages to staying and that's what he chooses.

AS is hard to read…. he seems more reserved … I would guess he is more like dad! Took all season to see papa Dre have a moment! I have a good feel for a return! Tight group!

And I hope Fletch is working with Tomi and David on explosive movement. Side to side and vertically. There are plenty skilled, and strong.

It looked like he was doing some kind of squat thrust along with Keaton in the post earlier in this thread, so it would be nice if each of these guys came back just a little springier!
I would also say resilience and injury prevention are key for both as well. A strong breeze through State Farm center has been enough to put Tomi on the DL, and Z has had his issues there too. We can't go through the season with one or both twins carrying injuries around all the time again.

According to their coach it was. They only hang banners for titles.
Well.... he's the coach. His job requires him to block out objective reality when coaching his team. That's his job; what he gets paid to do.

A fan / analyst's perspective is VASTLY different from a coach's perspective as it does not require obscuring reality.
Im not saying making a final four is not great. Heck I loved this year. I went to the airport for the return for Houston and would do it again in a heartbeat.

But I don’t think it hurts to come right out and take it on. If the remaining chips fall our way the team will approach it that way. Don’t be afraid of it. Take it the fk on. Maybe we don’t do it but don’t back off from it.

Don’t know who has seen the nc state 30 for 30 where they talk about how valvano had em practice cutting down the nets each year at a practice. He always expected to do it. And when it came he was ready for the moment.
"Come right out and take it on" .... "Don't be afraid of it" .... "Take it the fk on" .... "Don't back off from it" -- is everything I'd submit to. Absolutely the team should be confident, unafraid, come out with their hair on fair, etc etc.

However, the term you used originally was "national championship or bust." That phrase quite literally means if we don't win the national championship, our season is a failure.

There's been MANY Illinois teams in my lifetime that haven't won it all that I never look back on as failure seasons. In fact, I associate them with bringing heartwarming memories and a great deal of joy.

Likewise, in regards to our upcoming season, I don't see the reason to believe it should be the make-or-break factor of whether our season is a failure or not.

I had hope that Dre would be back but after tonight and not riding that wave of returns, while right there. I believe he will be portal kombating again

Stojakovic donated a large chunk of his NIL $ this past year. Hard to believe he is leaving to another school for money. Hopefully he has his own announcement soon. Love what we have will love it more with Stojakovic. Tell us you are back.!!!
