Thrilled to hear this. Do WHATEVER you have to do outside of robbing a bank to get this done. Period.

As I said above, Blackwell is really good, BUT there are a bunch of high quality guards who would be really good here.

I have made it very clear that Paul McNeil would be a great fit here. There are many others.

Just to try and clear things up …

I think it’s Andrej …

Or Andrej and Blackwell …

And that’s it …

Staff really doesn’t seem to be showing any interest in anyone else right now …

Brad is not interested in pivoting or settling …
Does that surprise you? Just curious.

Had to work late then read 22 pages...hate to hear about Ty, but will always love and laugh at the end of the video where he walks through and says his name after all the others. What a legacy!

Sure. But that's like saying I would've preferred two dozen other players over Wagler at the beginning of this year.

No one knew Clark would be a flop, who knows if Podz would've been the same player without a 26% usage rate he had at Santa Clara or if he would've been able to maximize his potential under Brad.

It's not like the dude ended up at Duke or even Wisconsin/Marquette, the majority of high major basketball passed on the guy...so the gotcha-ism that pops up with folks saying ButwhataboutPodz when we won a b10 title the year he was here and then went to an e8 and a f4 since is confounding
But the majority of the high major basketball passed on Wagler with a 28.5% usage rate.

Just curious and I know this is a next years problem. But what is our plan for the front line after next year? Big T and Big Z gone and chance Mirk gone too. Going to have to pony up a lot of money for bigs too.
Probably why a developmental PF is in play. I suspect our favorite agent has something stashed somewhere near the Adriatic Sea, that will ripe for the plucking when his other boys move on. At least I hope so…

No doubt… feels as thought that connection may be there for life

Who would have thought Ben would go from being the bane of Illini basketball to some last year to being a key cog in the wheels of our rise back to the final four this year.
Farbeit for me to ring in with "I told you so"...and I won't. We needed Ben to bring just what he brought. Ben had the skillset to be the guy he was. Yet, I did not expect his defense and rebounding to improve to the point it did. It is hard to find guys with his size and athleticism who, at his age, are willing to play a defined role with so much dependability and enthusiasm. But we needed just what he did. Kudos to Ben for becoming that guy.

It's not like Major programs were all over him for a transfer. He went to Santa Clara. Maybe that's what it took for him to adjust or that extra motivation to improve. He looked slow and lost at Illinois.
Could make the point that DGL looked lost on offense at Illinois and lost don’t even begin to describe Carey Booth in an Illinois uniform.
